If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... CV Boot Leaking

SAME EXACT THING FOR US CV BOOT/Axel . Replaced 12/2022. Went to get my oil changed and they saw it was still happening (throwing grease). Back at the Kia dealership now to get yet another CV Axel/Boot! This is insane!

Our 2021 Telluride with 15K miles has a leaking passenger side front inner CV boot. Unfortunately, the dealer is back ordered on the boot with no ETA. Looking at it, it does not appear to be torn. The grease seems to be coming out right at the end of the boot after the clamp. Has anyone had any experience with loose clamps or leaking boots?

Has anyone replaced a boot yet? If I can find the part I may just do it myself.

Thanks for the info.
i have a 2020 telly EX 118k miles and i just replaces both front units same thing leaking, it was found by dealership but i had it replaced at FIrestone for cheaper $

I am having the same cv boot problem and warranty issue. They quoted me $2,900 to fix it. Local shop said $2,200. Either way it sucks. Spoke to truxxx and of course they said this shouldn’t happen.

Did you install your lift kit or have a shop do it ?

When Mina buddy did my lift, it came out or the CV boots were leaking. But I also put it on after my vehicle had like 41000 miles..

I had it removed and then paid a shop that the manufacturer recommended with no complications since knock on wood.

I finally repaired my CV boot problem and had to pay out of pocket because they voided the warranty due to the lift kit. This is really crappy considering these cv boot problems are obviously very common. The private mechanic even said it was strange that Kia had the parts in stock as they are expensive parts and usually would not be kept in stock, meaning that they must be doing a lot of cv boot repairs. So basically I got screwed out of warranty coverage for nothing on my end. Live and learn I guess, but won't be getting another Kia thats for sure.

Same. Passenger side CV boot leaking At 66k miles. need to investigate if torn or clamp leaking.

Mostly the clamp , it's a big issue

Mine replaced at 50k just one side. Waiting for the other side at some point. Hopefully will have this car sold before that.

I have a 2020 SX Prestige and the CV boot clamp was replaced under warranty by the dealership at 40,000 miles as it was leaking on passenger side of vehicle. The driver's side one is OK for now. The clamp I think was about $200 from my dealership and they put it on free of charge under the warranty which I was happy about as I thought they would say I did it. My dealer is in Salem, Virginia and so far have been pretty good about warranty repairs for my Telluride.

2020 SX, 80k mi- Getting my third CV boot replacement (2nd on left, 3rd on right). Originally not covered under warranty, as I had the Truxxx lift kit installed. Issues kept happening (sagging back end, hard ride, and these damn boots). Finally had the dealer completely remove the lift kit, and replace the right boot kit at that time. Now both are torn again and dealer won’t honor the warranty as the replacements are only 12k miles or 1 year, and I passed the 12k mark in ~6-7 months.

The dealer used to be good, but got acquired, and now the staff is different every time I go in. It’s at Christian Brothers now, as they’ll provide 3yr, 36K miles on the replacement boot kits, actually care about my experience, and slightly better price. Definitely done with the dealer, and maybe the Telly if this next $2K+ repair doesn’t stick.

Our local service garage mechanic just called me and told me the exact same! Our right axle boot is blown out and throwing grease everywhere. I'm at 39,000 miles. Had a big trip planned to tour colleges for my twins and now no car. Dropping off to the dealership tonite. They won't order the part needed until they see it and no loaner car. Sucks!
That should be covered under warrantee and they should provide a loaner or get you a rental on their dime.

You are completely right. It will be covered under the factory warranty.

At the dealer right now for 3 or 4 recalls. Inner boot is leaking - 2021 SX with 27,000 miles. Covered under warranty, just wanted to share...

Seems like this problem is affecting earlier models of Telluride. Wonder if they’ve improved the boots/clamps since then.

Had to fight with dealer but they ended up replacing the whole CV axle. No cost to me.

No I see there is a recall for intermediate shaft problems.

2021 SX FWD with 44,510 miles...passenger side inner boot discovered leaking during dealership's courtesy inspection. Vehicle was in for Wheel Speed Sensors/HECU software update campaign. I appreciate the dealership discovering the CV Boot issue without trying to sell me any other "needed" service. I put it up on jack stands in my garage & confirmed the (visible) problem is only at the passenger side inner boot. Hopefully, that's the last of it. Bringing it in tmrw for repair under warranty.

Same thing over here. We bought new tires...it is still vibrating and shaking the whole car. It usually happens at high speeds but is not constant. Sometimes it lasts along time, then goes away and comes back 20 - 30 min later. We notice it more on the freeway and especially when we have longer road trips. It is scary!
