  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Placed my order about a month ago and afterwards found this tremendous forum. I wish I had found this before putting my deposit down, but is it concerning that my dealer hasn't provided their monthly allocations or where I am on the waitlist? I asked a couple weeks ago and no response from them. Not sure if that info is kept close to the vest on purpose or why they wouldn't be willing to share that with me. Curious to know others experience with your dealers.

Typical dealers are pretty open with allocation and waitlist. Unless they over-promised ETA and trying to hide it from you. That said, since you ordered on 11/17, your order may not get entered into the Kia's ordering system for few months. All depending on allocation and waitlist of that specific dealer of course. See if you can ask few other people at the dealer if your sales person is not responding. Consider getting a refund on your deposit if the wait time is longer than your expectation. Good luck.

I dealt with a smaller dealer and found that I knew more than the associate I was working with. He was very open and honest, but just didn't know as much about the process as I learned from these forums. In my case, I also found that the associate I was dealing with was better at responding to certain communications than others. For instance, he would never respond to emails, but would usually call back if I left voicemails. I just recommend reaching out every few days even if you have to speak to a general person at the dealership by not entering a direct extension. In this day and age and time of year, you'll often find people out for extended timeframes (i.e. COVID-19 exposure/illness, time off, etc.).
