• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Does anyone know how to get the purplish guage cluster view on the 2023 model? I've seen it in some videos where it's bracket shaped purple edges with numeric speed and rpm. I know you can get a dynamic view that changes with the time of day but unable to figure out how to set up this purple display

I believe that is only available on the trims that don't have the dynamic view.

Believe that’s on the lower level trims. EX and below

On an SX and up with the 12.3” digital gauge cluster, you can go to setup > vehicle > cluster > cluster theme selection. If you unlink from drive mode and then choose dynamic, you’ll get this:1674323783807.webp

If you have an EX or lower with the 4.2” gauge cluster screen, the rest is fixed except for the number displayed and color. You can choose between purple, green, and red. You should be able to go to the same settings area and choose the cluster theme you want (A, B, or C) if you want a specific color. But no other changes are possible. It’s going to look like this all the time on those models:1674323769041.webp

Interesting, I like the lower trims better. Curious what the other display options are for the higher trims.

By the way, lower trims also have a sort of blue option too. Oddly enough the purple looks the classiest/coolest/unique IMO.

These are the only options I’ve seen for the lower trims - if you’re linked to drive mode, purple will display for smart, comfort, and snow. Red for sport, and a greenish turquoise for eco. 1674326254761.png

For the cars with the 12.3” digital cluster, if you keep it linked to drive mode, the same appearance is seen for smart, comfort, and snow. Here’s what eco and sport look like. Note that if you like one, you can unlink from drive mode and choose it just like you would the dynamic theme. Note these images below are from a a Canadian car (km, drive/terrain modes)… it was the best and most clear video I could find to screenshot from side by side. There are plenty of other pictures available in Kia’s marketing and other videos.1674326228777.png

In the SX can you switch the speedometer to the right and tach to the left? I'm awaiting an ordered vehicle.

You are right, I remembered wrong, thought there was another color.

Car manufacturers are always a decade behind design trends. Skeuomorphism is on the higher trims and is past its prime . Lower trims is a tad busy but still have a simpler, cleaner monochromatic retro/modern look that reminds me of some I was wowed at in days of yore. Better than most cars I see these days. Manufacturers will get there eventually I think. But gauge design always seems a bit behind.

Thanks. I've not seen this setup in other vehicles. I guess I'll get used to it rapidly.

That’s how it’s been on all Hyundais and Kias with digital gauge clusters since the 2020 Palisade. Speed on left and tach on the right.

You are a Telluride guru. I really appreciate everything you add to this forum with your in depth and meaningful answers and insights.

Does the appearance ever change with software updates? I have a 2023 EX and dislike the purple. I fixed it on the cluster by permanently changing it to the blue (ECO) color, but would really like to lose the purple on the panoramic Home Screen.

They can. It all depends on the design direction they decide to take.

It was a big design miss to allow changing the cluster color but not home screen color. I really think the cluster and home screen color look far better matching (thus I'm keeping the purple). I would be quite surprised if they "fixed" this, however.

Highly, highly doubt they change this. I’ve been wishing Kia updates/changes their system font for years. No dice.

Its funny how quickly you get spoiled with dash displays. My Jag F-Pace gave you considerable customization options for each display option. I use dynamic on the Telly but I’m not a huge fan. I wish I could control what dials i want, where I want, the color I want.

It's just software nowadays. I don't see why they couldn't just send an update that has better dash options. I guess it's like everything else... if they don't have to... why would they. Sort of like the whole tow hitch debacle. What is everyone going to do... sell their brand new Telluride for a loss?

Car software is different… I don’t see much motivation for manufacturers to add features, unless it’s a vehicle sold on the premise of being a tech company ie Tesla. Sure they could update. But why would they? The only way I see getting updates are either for necessary bug fixes or if they update the software for future vehicles and we get to see the benefit from that trickle down.
