If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... If you take them out, don’t put them in backwards!

I think I remember there being quite an issue with that

@HeyMimi - both myself and the misses are short at 5’4. During test drives, neither of us experienced the issue you describe. Of course, it was only a short lived drive, but can you further explain?
@disweds12 I think my discomfort may just be a personal thing. I like to sit far back from the steering wheel, with my arms only slightly bent. When I do this in the KIA, I feel like I’m reaching for the gas pedal more than I like to. .. or maybe just more than I’m used to. I’ve been driving the same 2008 Tahoe, everyday for the past 12 years. It had a button that allowed me to move the pedals toward the the driver. I think I’ve gotten so used to sitting up higher in the Tahoe, with the pedals moved closer to my feet, that the Telluride just feels foreign to me. That’s what I meant by muscle-memory.

The issue about starting the car, is easily resolved. I remember seeing a setting that allows you to turn-off (can’t recall the feature name) Easy Access? When you turn off the engine, the driver seat slides back automatically, to make getting in & out of the car easier. When you get back in the car, it stays in that position until you start the car. Which is a stretch, to reach both the the brake and the start button, if you are short!

I’m embarrassed to say, the biggest reason I bought the SX over the S, is the “Driver Position Memory System.” My Tahoe didn't have it and I swore I’d never buy a car without it again. My husband rarely drives my cars. Everyone once in awhile, he’ll move it out of the way of the sprinklers or something. I hate driving away and realizing that I can’t see a thing in my mirrors, and having to adjust stuff while I’m driving. The SX has a button for Driver 1 and Driver 2 memory. Upon Start, the SX returns to the “last used” settings. But I can hit the Driver 1 button, and both side mirrors & the driver‘s seat will move to my preferences. I pretty much paid $7k more just for that, leather seats and the wireless Q charging thing ( and my IPhone 7 can’t use it!). It’s nuts, I know, but I’m old, I’ve paid my dues and I want my driver preferences remembered! :)

Some of the documentation that came with my Telluride shows that option

This has been mentioned a few times in the forum. KIA likely copied and pasted from another model in the features booklet.

It had a button that allowed me to move the pedals toward the the driver.
Installing pedal extenders could be an option?

There is a normal and extended setting for easy access too. But I understand even the normal setting can still be far for some.

I just wanted to say I am right there with you. The Driver Memory function was the thing that pushed us up from an EX. My hubs is 6'2" and I a 5'6" and he and I have different ideas about how the mirrors should be positioned. Although I will say the Reverse mirror tilt down function solves some of that and I love that feature too.

When we first started driving our Telly we had the same issues of finding the default position of the headrest uncomfortable and being confused by the literature in the car implying you could change the angle. I guess we've gotten used to it now but I agree with your issues! I will say, a month plus into owning it, I've gotten used to how it feels and it doesn't bother me any more.

Does the seat memory include the extended thigh cushion?

I have some nits to complain about (or I haven’t figured out the system). I have a 2021 SX-P AWD:
1. Wish the garage door opener buttons on rear view mirror had back-lit buttons for use at night.
2. Wish the doors did not lock automatically period, can’t figure out how to turn it off . . .
3. I do not like the engine stopping when I stop at a light etc. I know I can push the button when I get in the car but there should be a way to stop this function.
That’s it for now, I may have more later (I only have about 1200 miles on it). Don’t get me wrong, I love my TELLURIDE, these are just items I would change at this moment.

Stay Safe, Stay Well

1. Wish the garage door opener buttons on rear view mirror had back-lit buttons for use at night.

Maybe use glow in the dark stickers? I just feel around for the furthest left button to push.

2. Wish the doors did not lock automatically period, can’t figure out how to turn it off . . .

Only way is to open a door and close within 30 seconds of unlocking. It will stay unlocked if you do this. Could also press the button on the front exterior handles to unlock if you can’t get to the car quick enough after pressing unlock on the fob.

3. I do not like the engine stopping when I stop at a light etc. I know I can push the button when I get in the car but there should be a way to stop this function.

Most common hack is to use a cut piece from a credit card wedged to the side of the button. That way is it “auto” disabled every startup.

I wish there was a drive mode between Comfort and Sport. I find that Comfort is a little too lazy to downshift and Sport is a little too aggressive. I’m coming from a Mazda which always felt like it was in the perfect gear for the situation. It also only had 6 speeds instead of 8.

Thank you for writing this long response. I didn't forget about it. Just waited until we got ours to reply.

At 150 miles and 5'4, it doesn't seem like we (yet) are having complications with the headrest. Only time will tell though. My wife did notice that the... i don't know how to explain it...the side padding on the drivers seat...cradles you to the point where the triceps of the arms rests too much against it when driving. Just a difference between our old seats and this one, I assume.

While we don't have the memory system in the EX-P, both of us are nearly the same in height and just have minor repositioning requirements when it comes to lumbar support.

Of note, for those reading, I did a white-glove inspection of my ride upon delivery and did not find notice any issues that @Kwim The build quality spoils all the positive experiences. highlighted.
There was a minor dent in passenger rear door, but they're going to take care of it.

I'm not proving anything to anyone, just a photo.
What makes you think that pallisade is impeccably - it stinks of garlic😂.

For example, this was not the case on my 2017 sedona and 2019 sedona. And this is the first time I have met such a mixture. Usually either leather or fabric.

I noticed that too on mine. I traded a grand Cherokee summit and it was all leather to the base of the seat. My problem with this is the cleaning. If something spills to the side of the seat, it doesn’t wipe off easily like all leather.

Try Smart mode. I think that one provides the best balance between comfortable/economy and get-up-and-go when I do decide to stomp it.

If you are asking about the gloss black trim on the rear windshield, mine is flush against the glass. So yours either is not seated properly (can be popped into place?) or is defective?

Im totally with you on the seat memory! Lol

I've had mine just over 24 hours, and I'm in love.

But if I'm being picky -- like forced to be picky -- I wish my SX-P had...
  • had puddle lights

  • would light up on approach (I believe it's supposed to but I can't get the interior lights to go on and having to be standing right next to it before the approach lights turn on kinda defeats the purpose)

  • would auto lock when walking away after a certain amount of time

  • had a little more adjustability in the driver's power seat. Maybe I just haven't figured it out yet, given that it is 12-way adjustable, but I figured there'd be some tilt to the seat itself. 🤷‍♀️

  • had lights in the cupholders as part of the built-in ambient lighting

These are all extremely picky things. There is really nothing not to love about this car. It's incredible.

Not normal. That piece should be flush. I had the same issue and unfortunately the cause was that the whole rear window was mounted poorly and had to be replaced.

Check the alignment of your rear window - this was how my dealership noticed it and showed it to me. There’s a small gap between the bottom of the window and the body. Is the gap the same on both sides? If not, your window isn’t on right :(
