• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Do you have any complaints about your Telluride?

🤖 AI Summary

I’ll hafta say, after driving my SXP since March 2019, I really don’t have any legit complaints per se. Do I wish it had a couple of spoils like my wife’s RX? Yeah, maybe.

I do like her “lock the car from the power tailgate button” feature, which doesn’t exist on my Telly. Even my older Terrain had that feature. Remote start is nice but not a deal breaker at all for me. I do wish the Telly recognized my key fob and automatically unlocked all doors upon touching the handle though. Sometimes, I have to hunt for the magic black button in the dark when my hands are full.

But all in all, the features are abundant and for me have been very reliable, with no issues. One of the best cars I’ve ever owned. The ride is awesome, the space is roomy and very comfortable, I continue to get great mileage numbers, and it turns heads every day I’m on the road. What else do you need?

As others have said - you don't have to have UVO to use the radio or navigation. Just about every auto maker has a subscription service these days. It is common place and adds some additional functionality - but doesn't remove key and essential functionality if you don't want it. About the only downside to UVO is on the 2020 models - where you would lose remote start. For the 2021 - that no longer applies.
We have only had our 2021 EXP for about a week and I haven’t gone through the owner’s manual yet. Is it accurate that you don’t need a UVO subscription for remote start using the fob? I am familiar with the extra button on the fob that has been discussed.

Correct. If you have a 2021 - the button on the key fob operates independent of the UVO app.

With the 2021 all you need to do in order to remote start he vehicle: stand at least 15 feet away with the fob, lock the car and within 4 seconds after locking hold the remote start button on fob for about 3 seconds.

Will do. Seems like it’s a problem that’s been coming up a little more in the 21’s. A handful of folks have pointed it out here and in the FB group.

Following up on this thread here. My service rep told me that Kia just put out a TSB for this issue. See this post:

I've had mine for about 5 hours. I drove home in the dark and the sunroof/dome light buttons are not back lit. I could not find them in the dark. My analog speedometer reads 82 mph when the cruise is set at 80. The stock sound system is probably the worst I've experienced. This EXP replaced my wife's Chrysler 300 with Beats audio. I knew it would be a step down, but this is terrible.

Another hiccup!!!! How to I remove these little rust spots on my one month old telly?
polish, vd40, coconut oil.
You can not remove it from chrome parts, but you need to remove it from the paint.
it is road debris and, by and large, small metal shavings. Metal particles stick into varnish, paint and begin to rust. If the shavings are large and pierce the paint, then over time, starting to rust will transfer the rust under the paint. This is very noticeable on white and silver cars.
Therefore, it is recommended to polish the car with a non-abrasive polish once every couple of months.

Thankfully I took it to the dealership and they were able to remove it!

Can't speak to the quality of the 300's stereo as I wouldn't touch one of those with a 50ft pole but I have to say that this base stereo in the Telluride is pretty darn good. It's the best factory stereo I've had since my 2005 Sierra's Bose system.

I don't know how much you played around with the settings and the type of music probably plays a big factor but I can't believe how much bass this system can handle and handle it at high volume. I am truly surprised by how good it sounds for a factory system, it's so full and clear.

The surround sounds pretty good I think.

No, EXP. I spent some time with the HK on an overnight test drive once. I wasn't impressed.
The salesman who delivered my car had the bass and treble set to 10 and the mids to 5 and all I've done was roll the mids back to 3 and it's good. I don't usually run my bass and treble that high because factory stereos usually can't handle the bass. It's been sounding great though.

You'll learn the switches soon enough to find them by feel. My speedo was off by the same amount in my Sedona, it wasn't the end of the world. You can get it re-calibrated. The Beats system was very bass heavy, so it you may just have to get used to hearing high-hats and cymbals. Plus, you're comparing stock vs. upgraded Beats. It's like complaining that your V6 Charger is slower than a Hellcat.

No - that comes on the SX trim. The SX is probably the best value package on the Telluride. Part of the small $3K increase in price you pay over the EXP which also gets you a host of other items such as:

Everything in the EX trim, plus: (I eliminated the items that come on EXP that are part of the SX trim)

  • Reverse Tilt-Down Outside Mirrors
  • Window Surround, Satin Chrome
  • Door Handles, Body Color and Satin Chrome
  • Dual Sunroofs
  • High Beam Assist (HBA)
  • Front Fog Lights, LED
  • Harman Kardon® 10-Speaker Premium Audio w/ Clari-Fi™, External Amplifier & Subwoofer
  • Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM)
  • Parking Distance Warning - Forward (PDW-F)
  • Surround View Monitor (SVM)
  • Supervision Meter Cluster w/ 7-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) Color LCD Display
  • Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror w/ HomeLink®
  • 12-Way Power-Adjustable Driver's Seat, w/ 2-Way Power Lumbar Support
  • Driver's Seat Integrated Memory System (IMS)
  • Stainless-Steel Door Sill Scuff Trim
  • Stainless-Steel Pedals

The only thing I really wish the EX had was memory seats. Other than that, I don't feel like I'm missing out on any of the SX features. I have an extra 3k in my pocket and I don't have to keep black wheels clean. The SX features I actually care about come on the Prestige package like HUD and 110 outlet. I don't even find myself missing those.

For the price difference between an EXP and SXP, I can buy an atv or a nice used boat or something fun and still drive the same car as the SXP driver. On top of that, considering most of the upgrades that come on the SX are electronic or have a mechanical aspect, I feel like I'd better get the extended warranty if I plan to keep it a while since Kia doesn't stand behind their electronics as long as they do the rest of the car.

If I had to nitpick, extremely I might add...It would be that I hate how the windshield wiper nozzles miss the middle of the windshield completely. It needs three nozzles lol.

Same here. Take your smart phone, load a GPS app and set it on the dash(or have someone monitor it) and get up to speed. It will tell you which is accurate, if either.

Re the cracked windshields, this issue isn't specific to the Telluride.

There's a class action lawsuit by Subaru Ascent owners and Toyota hasn't been immune either (across various models), with it being g most prevalent for the Prius/Prime.

Sounds like you should sell your Telly...
