Espresso Interior Photos?

Yes, they did look like that. Back in April, I also sat in an EX with a grey interior that was like Chukpapa's vehicle. Also, the Espresso interior for SX was all brown - steering wheel, etc. Everything changed on August 8th on the website, but the light grey plastic panels and glove box remained with grey nappa on SX-P trim. Also, brown door panels on SX-P with dune brown remained in photo - but they disappeared on butterscotch non prestige. I think some August orders should be appearing this month.

I tried to call Kia directly. The person I spoke with had no idea. I called the dealership and they had me speak to a manager since my salesperson wasn't there. He confirmed that they did change the website, but didn't know when. He then said that he was "99% sure" that I would get a vehicle like the one's that had been selling all along (like Chukpapa's) and not the website. He assumed the website was wrong. Then I asked if maybe they just haven't gotten any of the vehicles produced after the change yet. He hesitated and said "maybe." He really didn't know. So. There it is.

Hi Chukpapa
If you don't mind me asking, what color is the exterior of your vehicle? I ordered a moss green sx FWD (not prestige) with gray leather interior. In looking at your vehicle's interior, I see it's different than what the website shows. I couldn't see the sx in gray in person, so I was ordering based on the website.

It looks like the console is a mix of gray and black (as opposed to all black) and the door panels are more gray in your vehicle than on the website. Also, it's gray where the glovebox is as opposed to black as pictured on the website. I'm wondering if that's a difference based on the vehicle's exterior color or if the website photo is just wrong. I emailed my dealer but have yet to hear back. It's a bit disconcerting when you can't see the vehicle in person and are basing the order on the website photos (which may or may be accurate).

Thanks so much for posting your vehicle photos! It's IMPOSSIBLE to find the gray interior (other than nappa) online.

It came off the production line in late September I just purchased it on maybe the 22nd and 23rd of September the photos I just posted I just posted six or eight I just took a few moments ago. I’ve seen the Napa leather and it has more black and gray for some reason but I don’t know when it was made and all that. Good luck I hope you get What you want. Huh. That's interesting. I can't even guess what may be going on. I would have thought that yours would have the all-black console, etc. based on your dates, but I really have no idea how the timing works. I appreciate your help and offer to ask your dealer, but I'd be surprised if they knew. Please don't go through any trouble. Thanks again.

Right, but you ordered it 6 months ago. We will still need to find out what will happen with orders +/- August 8 when the website changed... we're all chomping at the bit to find out!

Did he order that one with the gray? I thought he decided not to wait for that order and just went to the dealer to buy the current one he has? Or maybe I misunderstood. As far as the laughing icon, I now see the futility trying to ask someone at Kia. Wondering if I should look elsewhere, go with the black interior (sigh), or wait 2 months (or more) to see what comes in and start over if I don't like it. Is it always this difficult? I've always just purchased something on the lot, never ordered. Good times.

I did not order it. I had ordered another with the espresso interior in April that had still not arrived. The salesman at Beyer Kia in Falls Church, Virginia was unprofessional and after my last conversation with him I decided to see what I could find online. That evening Sept 23 I found one at Koons Kia in Woodbridge, Virginia, they had just received 11 Telluride, three were SX models. I went in the next day and bought mine off the lot, they had gotten less than a week prior. When I get the production date I will post it as well. I hope I did not confuse you. Best wishes. PS-I am loving this car, I have been driving Mercedes S series for the past 20 years and an assortment of other Mercedes for 20 year prior to that.

The production date should be on the driver door panel. Yes, we are loving ours too! I really can't see too much advantage to X7 or Mercedes over this vehicle... other than the engine of course. Ours is just getting broken in - now just over 1000 miles on odometer. Hoping it continues to impress!

Yeah, Kia's new website has made things a bit more confusing... but all will get ironed out in time.

I would just go ahead and make an order with a reputable dealer like Kia of Muncie that will give your deposit back if you change your mind. You can continue to hunt in the meantime as Chukpapa did - of course if you don't like it when it arrives, then there's no obligation to buy. But you'll like it regardless. Either way it looks stunning. I actually prefer the grey color of the non-prestige trim, as it's a bit darker than the grey nappa (which is closer to white).
