If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Our Gravity Grey SX finally came in. The dealer was hard selling several thousand dollars worth of extra coverage like simonize treatment, door ding protection, R.O.A.D. in tire protection...this one they really pushed hard on saying a new Telluride rim was $1450. I declined it all but have the option to add anything when I pick up the vehicle. My thinking is its just money making stuff for the dealer and low value to the owner. My Insurance will pay for broken rims and I'm thinking a professional detailer can apply ceramic or whatever paint coatings for better value. Just wondering if I am doing the right thing by declining all this extra coverage

Agree with you here. I am already budgeting for ceramic and if a rim breaks, then I will go aftermarket. Also, your next set of tires will have some sort of road hazard coverage that comes with the tire. I personally would rather wait to pay for an issue than prepay for piece of mind.

Since the telly comes with 10yr/100k powertrain and 5 yr/60k bumper to bumper, I'm thinking the only extra coverage I may want is a plan that covers all electronics and power items (seats, windows, etc.) for a longer period, if I can get it. So many are saying an extended warranty is a waste of money, but I am concerned about those items, and see several comments on very negative service after the sale, at least in my area (Fort Worth, texas). I've checked with my insurance company, and have already added the extra glass coverage to protect me from costly windshield cracks and breaks, as there appears to be an issue with the telly's windshield and a weakness.

Is there such an animal as partial extended coverage on the items I mentioned, and if so, what's the avg cost?

You can save $1,000+ by applying the ceramic yourself ($75-100 product). No need for paint correction on brand new paint or any of the other labor-intensive services detailers provide to justify their price for ceramic.

Great profit for the dealer that you can, in most cases do yourself, or get done elsewhere for much less. There's a reason the push it so hard.
