Does anyone know if there is a setting to stop the mirrors from folding in when parking the car?
I can't find this out it option. Are you sure?there is a setting to turn that off under setting on dash and not in radio.
This doesn't work either. If you switch the mirror button from the auto (neutral) position to - I think - the left mirror position they won’t fold when you lock. This is the button that picks which mirror you are going to adjust.
I don't think so automatically but there is the button to do it. I had that happen on my Ford Explorer a few years ago and cost me $800 to fix so it's an expensive lesson. Is there an option to fold the mirrors while driving. Eg. When i am backing out of my garage and there is possibility that i might hit the mirrors ?
Yes it is the above the controls that adjust the side mirrors and windows. There is 3 positions.. set to far right to fold mirrors in, have in the middle will automatically adjust mirrors in and out when car is locked and unlocked.. set to far left to not fold in and stay in fixed folded out position. Is there an option to fold the mirrors while driving. Eg. When i am backing out of my garage and there is possibility that i might hit the mirrors ?
I tried setting the left-right mirror adjustment switch to the center/neutral position as my instruction manual said to disable the automatic folding/unfolding of the mirrors when locking/unlocking the vehicle to disable the automatic function. It did not work. Nor did it work in the left or right position.
But...I read about the "Welcoming Mirror" function and went into my settings and unchecked this option and that took care of the mirror folding/unfolding upon locking/unlocking!
I have an EX. Now I can use the button above the left/right switch to decide when to fold or unfold my mirrors.
A lot of "guessing" but I also do not know the answer to your question. However I just took delivery today of a Palisade Limited and was shocked to find that the mirrors do not automatically fold when I lock the car. What is that all about? The handbook says to manually push them back when going through the car wash. Tons of technology and the mirrors do not fold. I traded in a 2016 Kia Sorento and the mirrors folded on it. I assumed that the Telluride mirrors would fold, but after my experience with my Palisade it would be good to know.
The Kia doors also always closed accurately and smoothly without slamming. The mark of a well constructed car.
The Palisade doors however need a bit of a slam as did the Telluride I tested. Is this progress?
To deactivate power mirrors folding
1-Go to the "User Setting"
2-Convenience"
3-"Welcome Mirror/Light"
4-Uncheck "On door unlock"
GREAT!!! That does it on my Canadian EX. Supposed to get freezing rain here (Montreal) tonight. With the folding mirrors disabled I should be able to get into the car tomorrow and then use the heated mirrors to melt off the ice. If the mirrors would have been folded and frozen I don't see how I could have unlocked the car to get the heaters going without waiting for warmer weather. Why this is not clearly indicated in the manual, I don't know, especially since the problem of getting into the vehicle when the folded mirrors are encased in ice is mentioned. They recommend using some de-icer instead of indicating the folding mirror disable option in clear English. How in Hell do they expect "Welcome Mirror/Light" to be understood to be "Disable Folding Mirrors".
