JMatty, Can you tell me a little more about your system behavior before the unexpected and abrupt activation of the braking system. Did the system often deliver a warning alert., without actually braking in traffic and at what distance from cars in front or to the side did this occur? My system delivers no warning and no active braking when I think it should have at least delivered a warning message. I am concerned that mine is not actually doing anything at all when it should. At what distance from cars in front did you receive a any kind of message or warning? On a previous car I that I have owned, with a similar system installed, it has given me alerts and on occasion actively braked when a car cut me off in traffic. So far my Telluride has given me no warnings or active braking when personally I think i should have. As a result , I"m trying to determine what is normal and what is not. I am going to my dealer tomorrow to have them check it out, but based on the experience level with this new model, I do not expect much. So anything you can tell me to educate me on how your system worked, when it was acting normally would be appreciated. Did it ever work as expected and what were the circumstances? Anyone else out there please feel free to chime in on this and what you have seen with your Telluride as well. I'd really appreciate the knowledge gained from you experiences as well. My system appears to do nothing when I think at least a warning is warranted. To be clear, I'm asking about non cruise control engaged forward collision warning and active braking events. Thanks for checking in, and I appreciate the support.
After two months of nonsense, the vehicle is finally going to be replaced and hopefully this will all be wrapped up within a week or two. Fortunately, the dealership has been great throughout this entire process, fully supported my complaint, and even identified the right person from KMA to bring into the conversation in order to meaningfully advance the issue and find a path to resolution.
Unfortunately I do not have any information to share about how to actually address a repair of this defect. Mine is apparently the first vehicle in the country where the FCW/A misfire has been replicated at the dealership level, so hopefully KMA will take this unit, strip it down to the frame, and find out precisely what was causing the misfire so that to the extent other vehicles experience a similar problem, a fast and effective repair can be performed.
Any experience from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
