• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Isn't fuel filler lid supposed to be locked when all the doors are locked? I can close and open it no matter if the doors are locked or unlocked.

I just don't want someone to tamper with it when doors are locked.

Not sure where you live but if you are concerned about someone tampering with the fuel lid I would get wheel locks lol

It's supposed to be locked when the drivers door is closed and locked.

No. It does not lock!! It was a surprise to me also.

It does not lock no matter if all the doors are locked or unlocked. So, i was wondering if there is an issue with mine or if anyone else is having same issue.

I wouldn't be upset if it didn't lock... nobody steals gas anymore.. seems to be more of an inconvenience to me.

This conflicts with the user manual page 4-42 (see below snippet). Now the wording states the fuel filler lit will open when driver door is unlocked, but does not state that it will NOT open when the door is locked.

I hope it will let you close it when the driver's door is locked. I always lock my doors when filling up the car. That way nobody can slide in the off door undetected and steal anything.

The fuel filler lid should not open when the doors are locked. Mine does not, it unlocks when doors are unlocked.

Just checked mine. The lid does not open when the vehicle is locked

Just checked. It will not allow you to close the lid when the vehicle is locked

Thanks for pointing this out. The next time I drive through NJ and stopped for gas (Full service) this would have sure tripped me up.

i confirmed as well. Won’t open when car is locked.

My dad worries about that. Don’t ever fill it up past a 1/4 tank.

There was a fuel lid open instruction sticker as well on dash/instrument panel glass (see pic attached)
