• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... In my wifes Telluride, we have to push the gas pedal a good distance before it actually does anything. There is about 1 to 2 inches of travel in the pedal before the engine reacts. Is this normal, anyone else notice this?

It’s not a sports car. If you want it to be more responsive, you can enable sport mode. Smart mode also makes it slightly more reponsive as well. If that still isn’t enough for you, there are aftermarket solutions I have seen people tout like Pedal Commander or things like that.

I don't think you understand. There is about a 2 inch range of motion that the pedal does NOTHING. I'm 51 years old so Ive done my share of driving and I have never felt a gas pedal do this.

I don't think I've notice that when I'm driving. If it doesn't feel normal to you, have a visit to your dealership.

They are all electric throttle controlled pedals these days. So they respond whenever the computer tells them to, or are set to do. Different makes/models can vary drastically in throttle response.

Two inches of pedal travel with no response on the tach sounds abnormal though. I don’t think my pedal is that unresponsive.

In general the Telluride has quite a bit of travel to really get the engine to rev hard. This is partly done to improve gas mileage I would assume. The other reason I would imagine is because most drivers are incapable of controlling a more sensitive throttle pedal smoothly, and would complain the car is too jerky. That is why almost all luxury brands “numb” the throttle, steering, and suspension to the point where it feels almost like riding on a cloud. Most non-sport cars are basically heading in the same direction.

I drive almost exclusively in Smart mode. I don’t feel like the throttle response travel affects my daily use or ability to pass on the highway though. Maybe only if you intend to drag race with it.

It would be nice if they included the option to configure the throttle sensitivity without having to switch to sport mode or buy a pedal commander though.

I have the same problem. It is a brand new Telluride and I can press the pedal half way and nothing happen. It is by far the worst car I have ever driven so far. Did you find a solution to it? I want to take mine to the dealer tomorrow because it was not like this when I bought it. Thanks for your help
