Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

Interested, thanks. I spoke with Amber at Cartersville today in fact and she indicated they don’t do Costco but do MSRP. Who knows? It seems strange that Lucas in Muncie is the only one that honors Costco. May have to return to my Hoosier roots for this one 😊
* Update. For all the Atlanta area peeps, Mathews Kia in Cartersville offers MSRP on Telly *orders*, but no Costco discount. (I was told they offer Costco on other models, just not the Telly). Doc fee is pretty steep @ $699 but Chris Huth is a great salesman, very knowledgeable and chill, no BS. We did a full test drive in a tricked out SXP black copper nightfall, felt like driving a bat mobile or police cruiser. We ended up going with GWP SXP tho. Initial impression of Chris and Mathews Kia is favorable. Now the waiting game begins.

Thanks for the information. Do you know how much is the wait time?

Stephen Cantrelle of Classic Kia in Carrollton, TX was excellent to work with these past couple months. I placed my order for a 2021 Kia Telluride SX Prestige/Nightfall around 12/29 and received it from the dealer on 3/15. He kept me updated me on the status of my order and streamlined the buying experience. I flew in and he even picked me up from the airport. He was very knowledgeable and gave me a nice walk through of the vehicles features before I drove off.

Jeremiah in finance was also great. No unnecessary pressure in finalizing the paperwork.

I'm from Victoria, TX but would gladly travel to Carrollton again to do business with them in the future. 10/10 buying experience.

Just placed an order with Luther KIA in Inver Grove Heights, MN 2 weeks ago and my order was submitted within the last week. I received an email today with an ETA of 4/26. That was totally unexpected. I was fully expecting to wait 3-5 months or even longer.

What's the story on Superior KIA? The one in Cincinnati, right? I just requested a price quote from Gerald this morning based on positive feedback i read in this thread. Should I be avoiding this dealer?
I had read on this thread that Superior Kia was selling at msrp. When I called yesterday I spoke to a woman who handles online inquiries for the dealership and she said they do sell at msrp off their lot, or $1,000 under msrp if you order one from them. I discussed this with my husband and we decided to move forward, but when I called back and got transferred to a sales person (Anthony) he said they are marking there Tellurides up by $1999 sold off the lot now, and they are not doing the $1,000 off msrp for ordered Tellurides because that was just a promotion...then he said they might could do it just for me...it was a weird conversation and I felt like they weren’t being straightforward with me. Since we would’ve been buying from out of state, I didn’t feel I could trust them to actually come through with the “promotion” whenever the vehicle did arrive, so we didn’t order or buy from them. Two dealerships that are selling at msrp right now:
Lou Fusz Kia, St. Louis MO (ask for Shelby) *charges $199 admin fee
Parson’s Kia, Winchester VA (ask for Anton) *charges 649 dealer fee

Both of these were friendly and very understanding about working with people from out of state on purchasing Tellurides.

We just ordered a Telluride from Parson’s (no deposit required there, but Lou Fusz requires a $1,000 deposit). We also requested that if anything arrived on their lot that matches what we want they call us so we might be able to get the vehicle sooner. I’ll update on our final purchasing experience when we have finally gotten our Telluride!
Let's allow our members and readers to SKIP the bad dealers and give their business to those dealers who've treated you RIGHT.

Please take a moment to reply with your good experience so we can steer other buyers toward that dealership...

Yea the same Anthony took down all my info and I never hear from him since. Luther KIA sells at MSRP and I will be picking mine up on 4//26

Had a wonderful experience in Athens GA today at Bulldog Kia. We were able to snag a XS-P Dark Moss w/ dune interior off the truck and in under 2 hours drove away paying $500 under MSRP. We originally had one on order with Mall of Georgia Kia and after 4 months of Kia not even picking up our order yet we tried the old fashioned route of buying off the lot. Realizing finding one at MSRP would be difficult I was pleasantly surprised to buy not only at MSRP but slightly under from a dealer 1/2 hour from our house. Easily the best car buying experience I've had in a very long time.
Bulldog told me a few months ago that they're charging a $5000 premium on all Tellurides. I guess that could be new since your transaction. Did you have to negotiate to get rid of any fees or premiums?

We might order from Parsons too but I can’t find Anton’s post anywhere in the forum.

Here’s his business card that he texted me after I called him. I used his cell for convenience but he said you can also call the dealership and ask for him if you prefer.

We ordered from Parson’s Kia before Anton posted here and are working with Sam Berry. I can recommend her so far, too. She is nice to deal with and has been very responsive - always either taken my calls immediately or called back promptly. She called this weekend when another buyer walked on an SX they ordered to offer it to us - it was too far off what we want so we are still waiting. She said that rarely happens but when it does they offer to those who ordered and are waiting and don’t release to buyers who walk on the lot. They are loyal to their order list. Parson’s seemed to be the best regional option to us after researching dealers here. I’ll let you know how the rest of the process goes as we move along!

That’s great to hear and thanks for sharing! What’s the eta on your order?

We don’t have an official ETA yet. We placed our order on 2/17, then there was the February systems snafu. Our order wasn’t picked up in March but we are hoping for April. Sam told us they are generally running 4-6 months from order to delivery - sometimes 3 months on lower trims. She did suggest that if we planned to order we do so in February or March so there is less chance of delays when the factory makes any changes for the new model year.

The dealers local to me were all quoting 6-12 months. And I wasn’t going to deal with DMV dealers and their mark-up nonsense and tactics. Parson’s seems to be one of the higher volume of the non-DMV dealers in Virginia based on Failcat stats, even more so than Richmond, Williamsburg and Virginia Beach dealers.

I have an amazing experience working on new SX P Telluride with Kim Nam from Halleen Kia in Ohio.
She is knowledgeable, proactive and very helpful in a search for a new Telluride. In fact they have few brand new cars coming in 2-3 weeks and the only reason why I did not get one - because my wife wants Nighfall... In my home town and 99% of everywhere else &5,999 - $9,995 is the up charge for such cars, and no any added to MSRP charges at Halleen Kia. Kim can arrange the delivery to anywhere in US. or you can set it up yourself with such company as The RoadRunner Auto Transport. Kim's phone number is 440-508-7331 and her email address is knam@halleenkia.com
If you want to have a great experience getting a great car I highly recommend Kim

I had a great experience at Ladd-Hanford Kia in Lebanon, PA. I'm from Maryland and as others have pointed out I had a challenging time finding a dealer that wouldn't mark up the Telluride or add "packages" I didnt want or need. I pretty much followed the script on this website (didn't want to order) and used failcat to contact the dealers within a 4 hour drive. I cross checked the dealerships with this website to see if it was worth contacting them (if they were already noted to mark up the car I didn't bother). I reached out to a number of the dealers, unfortunately many of the Tellurides had been pre-orders so those didn't work.
I contacted Cody at Ladd-Hanford. I saw someone had posted here that they were easy to work with but being a small dealer they didn't have much volume. Cody told me he had a wolf gray prestige with nightfall coming in. I asked for the OTD price and it was MSRP +taxes, tag, Doc fee (about $400). I communicated back and forth over email and sent many of the documents ahead of time. I got the veteran discount as well as $500 off 2.25 financing through Kia (had my own lined up in case it didnt work out). They also gave me a great price on my trade in! $8500 for a 2010 Highlander with 165k miles. I was floored!
I was still skeptical when I got there but the car was ready (I also asked them to install a trailer hitch, a bit pricey at $850 but I wanted it out of the way). The process went smoother than any other car purchase I've ever had. No gimmicks with the finance guy, no pressure to buy any packages, I was out the door in less than an hour (including test drive). I was also dealing with a family emergency so couldnt stay long to begin with (consequently I didnt get a chance to learn about all the awesome features but hey that's what youtube is for!).
I would highly recommend them for anyone in the area!
So excited to be a Telluride owner and part of this great community!
