Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

Let me know what you decide fly and drive or transport. I ordered from i25 and live in the Bay Area as well. Please share details about order and delivery time. Thanks
Sure, the ETA for my car is around November. I'm planning to fly and drive - not sure if I need to take a break at Wells, NV or Salt Lake, UT. Depends on what time I land in Denver and get delivery of the car etc. Not sure if I can drive back without stopping overnight at one of these places.. I tried to figure out a way to direct message you, but not sure if this forum allows it..

I got my SX Prestige NF from Dutchess Kia in NY. 1.5 hour away from NYC where I live but we only had to go there to pick up the car. Chris sent me the info I needed and they charge MSRP which in the tri state area is one of the rare ones to do so. When I called them end of April, they were expecting the exact car I wanted to arrive mid June, so I made a deposit right away. The car came in a little bit early and we picked it up June 8. I had been looking for the SX Prestige in Ebony and black interior since 2019, every time I called a dealer they were sold even before hitting the lot or they were charging over $60,000! Dutchess Kia will also place an order for you, unlike other dealers that I talked to. The process was pretty smooth, except that they don't take large amounts on credit cards, which is weird to me because in Manhattan it's not an issue to use a credit card to buy a car! So, instead we had to finance a small part of the cost, which we plan on paying off within the first 3 months, as it is the minimum of time to have the loan. I know the deanship makes money with financing too so even better for them! Good luck on your research and getting the car you want!
Dutchess gave you MSRP? They are only quoting me a markup and saying they're is absolutely no wiggle room

Just got my ETA today… similar as you, early November. Who knows, maybe we can convoy back to the Bay Area!

I picked up my Wolf Gray SXP from Kia of Puyallup in Washington State.

When I started looking back in February, Tim Llapitan (Internet Sales Manager) was the only salesperson in the Western Washington region that would answer me back with what exactly the dealership was charging on Tellurides. All the others wanted me to come in "to discuss." He was upfront that they charge $2,000 extra but also add onto the powertrain warranty and have free oil changes and car washes for life. I came into the office, and they gave me a spec sheet for my order when my time on the waitlist came up. No deposit is required.

Tim kept me up to date monthly on my waitlist status. When they moved to the 2022s, he texted to make sure I was still on board, and my order was submitted within a couple of weeks.

He also kept me up to date with the ETA, and when it arrived yesterday, I got a prompt text. Made an appointment to come in today. The car was ready. I had an excellent finance package from USAA, and the Finance Manager didn't give me a hard time. He offered the warranty, and when I showed him a quote from Muncie, he matched the price. Since it was a Saturday and fairly busy, it took 2 hours to get in and out with our car.

I told Tim at the beginning that I thoroughly dislike car buying, and all I wanted was to feel good about the deal afterward. He met my request.
Can you share his contact information? I might reach out to him. I live in Vancouver, WA and as much as i would hate to pay the $2k above MSRP i may not have the luxury to fly to another state and drive back as my wife is expecting by the end of the year and depending on the timing i may not be able to take off for a few days. If i have it shipped to me its going to cost me $2k-2500 anyway.

Moritz Kia Alliance (Texas) was amazing to work with. Ask for Chris Fulco-he’s an amazing communicator through both email and text.
Dealership charges $899 for make ready/tint/nitro, no negotiation over MSRP. Chris got me my accessories cheaper than ordering them through the portal and set up my ceramic tint, including sunroof. Delivered what seems to be the perfect vehicle!

Sounds like an $899 markup over MSRP to me.

Yep, but he was up front with it before I even ordered. It was worth it to me after the horrible lack of communication from my previous dealer and seeing a $10k markup at another.
Have a great day!

In a sense, yes. However, if you plan on tinting the windows anyway, their markup is effectively reduced by that much. A few hundred bucks on a $50k vehicle isn’t much. There are a couple other dealerships in the area with zero additional cost but they have longer wait times. I have an order with Moritz and have no concern over the few hundred bucks.

If you’re in the Columbus, OH area I just had the best experience at Ricart! Went there after not having a great experience with another dealer & was able to put my name on one that was headed to the dealership already. Did this the last week of July & was told it would arrive by August 22nd, ended up arriving this afternoon. Went after work & due to several others also coming in for their holds was there alittle under 3 hours but i felt it was worth it since only having to wait a little over a month. They have preorders coming in often & one of the bigger dealers that get a good chunk of orders shipped to them. They do not allow personal orders & they will not take a $500 or $1,000 deposit just ask for a few details ahead of time to reserve one under your name, paid MSRP for a 2022 S Trim in Glacial white pearl with AWD. It did come with car mats & the cargo liner but I was okay paying for those. Went in with my own financing already with my bank & they ended up coming under the interest rate I walked in with so very happy with my purchase! If you go ask for Wesley “Wes” Hoover.

My wife and I ordered our '22 SXP AWD from Kia of Fargo on July 23rd.. No deposit required, and a sales price of $400 under MSRP. That is without any military or other discount. I looked around, and found no one else anywhere near that price. We worked with Mike Aguilar, and the process couldn't have been easier or more stress-free. I highly recommend them.

The only downside is that they have a pretty long waiting list. I expect our wait time will be inconvenient, but we're willing to be patient, given the overall sales experience. We did receive the order sheet confirmation right away. Does anyone have any idea what the typical time is between the order being placed and the order/vehicle showing up in KFOS?
I ordered an SXP AWD on Sept 26th of last year. Still waiting.

Awesome experience at i-25 Kia, Longmont CO, with Carlos Rubio. Saw one of his posts back in June and called i-25 Kia right away to place the order. Carlos was friendly, knowledgeable, and updated me anytime the status or ETA for my Telluride changed. As you can see from my timeline below, I was in touch with him quite a bit. I was never left in the dark or wondering about the status of my vehicle. The Telluride arrived in less than 2 months and approximately 2 months earlier than I was originally quoted. Upon arrival Carlos immediately texted me, sent 8 photos, parked it inside to protect it from a thunderstorm, and kept my keys always locked in his desk until the shipper could pick it up. Finance manager Mikel and Ray got me a good deal on extended warranty and helped me take advantage of $300 rebate. Highly recommend i-25 Kia.

I had a good experience with Matt Belt at Nationwide Kia in Lutherville (north of Baltimore)

They originally wanted 2500 over MSRP, but Matt was kind enough to sell it at MSRP.

All the other area dealers wanted $5k to $10k over MSRP.

Matt is one of the good guys!

The folks at Jones Kia in Fallston were particularly unhelpful.

Nice work. I got them down to 2k but then found another dealer willing to sell for MSRP (Bob Bell) so I went with them. Agreed with Jones, I asked if they would match MSRP and they wouldn't even call me back...

Did you buy one off the lot from Bob Bell or did you order one with Bob Bell?

I placed an order with Nationwide. I wish I could have bought one off the lot, but they insisted on $5k over MSRP for the tellurides on the lot.

I placed an order at the end of June, hoping to have the car by the end of October. I'd love to buy one off the lot as well but it seems there are almost no dealerships selling Tellurides off the lot at MSRP, I don't know of any. Bob Bell has no inventory, all the Tellurides they get are orders. Koons seems to be the only dealer that can keep them on the lot but that's because they change 10k over so most people won't buy from them.

Thanks for sharing, I ordered from Carlos at i25 on 7/15. I can’t wait for my turn. Enjoy your ride when you get it. Very cool he sent pictures with the DRL on!

Had a great buying experience at Lou Fusz Kia in St Louis and my salesman Curtis Laws. Sold at MSRP and really low doc fee of $199. Told me the car would be in at the end of the month and showed up on the 25th of this month. Easy and fast.

I picked up my Telluride from Chris Lewis at Parsons Kia in Winchester, VA. The entire process from start to finish was as it has been reported to be by others here in the forum - fair and honest. They sell at MSRP, no deposit is required, and No surprise add ons or fees (there is a document processing fee that I’ve gotten with any car I’ve ever bought and I expected it). Very pleasant experience (I know that doesn’t make the wait any easier - but you can manage!!!)!!!

Great looking car! Had reservations about the everlasting silver, but love it with the dark wheels!
