As my sig shows, I just picked up my Telly last week. I can honestly say that this was by far the easiest vehicle purchase I've ever had. Maybe because I went in fully willing to pay MSRP, which before this, I would never do.
When I ordered, because of all the great members here, I knew exactly how I wanted the car optioned. The salesman I had (Pedro is a great guy) said it was rare for someone to have as much information and know how the ordering system worked. That's all thanks to all of you. When the order was accepted into KFOS, he texted me, and gave me a rough delivery date. After that, not much more he could do until it came in.
Once the car got to the dealer, he texted me again, and then asked the questions he'd be asking me if I had gone in to pick it up. So sitting at home, I was able to get all of the approval done for financing, saving a lot of time sitting at the dealership. He sent me back some preliminary paperwork to look at, and that gave me a weekend to look it over and figured out what I was going to do with my 2014
Sorento. I priced it out online at both Carmax and Carvana, and brought those printouts in with me.
On the day that I could finally pick it up, the bulk of the paperwork was already done. Went into the finance office and went through everything, and he did not try to force a single thing on me. He mentioned the things that dealers sell, gave me the pros and cons, and let me decide. If you are looking to trade in a vehicle, be sure to have those printouts for offers from other "buyers". That will really give you an edge. I also had printed the pamphlet from Muncie for the extended warranty, and he already knew all about it, and told me straight up that he couldn't match their price. I was fully willing to call them up in the next few days and buy it from them, but the finance guy wanted to make this sale, so he renegotiated the trade, and made it close enough to convince me to buy it from him, and save the hassle of making any more calls to get what I wanted. Very low key. No temperatures were raised........ No threats to walk out....... (all those from me usually) It was a very enjoyable sale, and that is why I am sharing my experience.
Due to all the information that has been shared on here, when I got home, I checked the pressure in my tires, and they were all at 49psi. I texted Pedro about it, and he said he'd pass the info on to the service manager. I had never heard of factories doing this before. I wonder if this is something new that is starting up in the industry.
