  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi,
I just got a MSRP quote for a SXP-N.

On the phone, I was told MSRP - $51,145 including Tow hitch + Illuminated scruff plates + Wheel locks.

But when I got the pricing, it had two line items for Government Fees of $153 and Proc/Doc fees of $200.

Is this normal and something people here have been paying? I am buying this out of Texas/DFW area. Please advise!

That's a good deal. Doc fees are always in a purchase and often non-negotiable - particularly with Telluride. Those are reasonable fees for a Texas purchase - very low in fact.

If you decide to purchase, be sure to execute the sales contract before traveling to ensure your pricing. Else, when you show up, there may be a surprise added to the price. Happened many times. Don't trust an email from a salesperson either. Must speak with a sales manager.

Sounds good. FYI, max document fee in TX is $150. It appears they added some in there for processing. Very reasonable deal.

Which dealership are you buying from
I am working with Huffines Kia in Corinth, TX. I placed the order (i.e. provided Credit Card and Driver's license) on Thursday..but no receipt of the deposit nor order confirmation yet. Salesperson says it should be in my email, but its not. Now he needs to "look for the receipt with his managers", so feeling a bit uneasy at the moment. The upside is they are quoting 3-5 months. I spoke to Fort Bend Kia near Houston, and they have similar deal, MSRP, but out of towners need to wait another 2 months, and it would be 8-10 months thereafter - essentially an year out.

That’s why it’s always important to know what your OTD (out the door) total will be.

Some states have massive registration/title fees. Some states have no limit on doc fees and they can be anything… some times close to or even above $1,500.
