If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... The forum software is of course pushing me to come introduce myself, so here I am. From the name obviously a Canadian (west Coaster). Earlier today I put in my order for a 2021 Everlasting Grey (Everlasting Silver is what the colour is called in the US is my understanding) SX.
From reading the forums I guess I shouldn't be too surprised if they move me over to a 2022, and I certainly wouldn't mind that (so long as they don't suddenly say they have to charge me more :) ).
When the Telluride comes in (2~3 months is what the salesman said), it'll be joining our family fleet of a Kia Niro PHEV as well as a Kia Borrego. Once we've got the Telluride I'll be listing the Borrego for sale.
We were sold on the Telluride knowing that not only does it have great features, but can also tow 5000lbs. The only slight hesitation was that it is a unibody unlike the Borrego's body on frame, but the trailer we usually tow for at most a week or two a year is nowhere near the 5000lb limit so the upgraded amenities will more than make up for that towing shortcoming I'm sure.
I'll let you know when it comes in. Friendly bets for how long? Other forum posts seem to indicate that delivery could be even longer due to the current microchip shortage, but only time will tell.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! And I hope time flies until you're driving the Telluride...

Hey, Just joined myself and placed an order for an Everlasting Silver SX this week 5/17. Just outside of Chicago. Now I'm just rooting around anything that talks about Tellurides...Ive never obsessed over a car before but this one has me so hyped up. Like you I am just assuming I'll be getting a '22 until I get a confirmation either way. If the price happens to be a bit more, I'm ok with it as long as they don't change anything up on me. as the car looks pretty great as is. Best of luck to you as we wait!

Any update yet MayorMacCheeze? We're just past a month of waiting, so from what I was told I can't really expect anything yet. But I'm kind of curious since you ordered what sounds like the identical vehicle on the same date (or thereabouts) whether there is any difference in delivery times between Canada and the US.
Hopefully soon!

Nothing yet, unfortunately. I was informed by my dealer that they had ~41 open orders and I was somewhere in the middle. Based on the information I gathered on failcat.com, my dealership is allocated 10-15/mo. This most likely puts me in queue for an August build, September delivery. But I'll continue to hope it gets picked up next month.

I did ask my sales person if ordering a lower demand color/trim puts me at a longer wait as not that many are made. She indicated the opposite, in her experience. Lower demand color and trims tend to get picked up a bit quicker as Kia makes X number and not as many customers orders them. I'm not sure what to believe at this point as I have seen so much conflicting data from dealer to dealer, but for our sake, I hope she is correct. Ill make sure to update this thread with any info I get.

It's been a busy summer, but wanted to let you know that 2 weeks ago (Thursday, July 15) I got a call that my Telluride was in at the dealer. I gave them a couple of days to do the detailing, then picked it up on the 17th. So that meant delivery time was exactly 2 months. I'm impressed the salesman was able to estimate it so perfectly.

I'm happy that although I was suspecting the wait to be much longer, and I was thinking I would definitely be upgraded to the 2022 before it was delivered, I guess I got my order in in time to get a 2021 as it does have the "old" (oval) logo.

I haven't taken it yet on any significant drives, I just passed the 100km mark today. We had it in at the dealer yesterday getting the crossbars put on, as well as the towing package installed. Due to some confusion (we were dealing with a different salesman for delivery than when we put the order in), they only installed a 4 wire trailer hookup when we really needed a seven. They are looking after us well though as it was basically closing time when I picked it up yesterday so I didn't realize that it was only a 4 wire until I got home. I phoned the service guy this morning first thing, and he said he would doublecheck what they could do. He phoned back after a while and said they had been approved to just get in a 7 wire connector that they would hookup. If I understood correctly they are also going to install a brake controller, which is more than we really needed as our 7 pin trailer doesn't even have electronic brakes (but hey, I'm not going to stop them).

I think it is another dealer who doesn't fully understand the tow package wiring differences in the 2021 vs the 2020. In another thread I was educated by 2020Telly that the 2021 Telluride has pre-wired capability for a 7 pin connector, and the 2021 Kia towing harness comes as a 7 pin option, but I believe they are getting a third party harness.

Today we had the Telluride in at a well reviewed local electronics shop getting dash cams installed, Friday we're back at the dealer to get the 7 pin harness installed, then Saturday we've got it in at a well reviewed auto spa getting Diamond Kote, undercoat, rust protection, and interior protection all applied. Just in time to leave for 2 weeks of summer vacation on Sunday.

One point of interest I can share is that when I was at the dealer getting the hitch installed, I saw a 2022 Telluride (new logo) being taken off the delivery truck, so if you don't have yours yet MayorMacCheeze, I'm guessing you will be upgraded to the 2022.

Very happy for you that you finally got your car! Congrats! AND you got a 2021. I like the logo much better on the 2021 so I'm a bit jealous. As of July 23, I was still 8th in line at my dealer which should be built in August (Model Year 2022). I'm always happy to see some picks of the Silver...They are incredibly rare in the wild around here.

Enjoy the ride!
