Has anyone had the right front axel boot split ? I have a 2021 with 88K miles.

Has anyone had the right front axel boot split ? I have a 2021 with 88K miles.
 
Other than transmission fluid, likely the hardest working part on any modern car is any front axle CV joint and/or boot. On full lock turns (parallel parking) one side of the boot completely compresses whilst, the opposite side of the boot is fully extended. On BOTH axles... Then we are asking for all of the engine power to be transmitted through the CV Joint (inside the boot) to propel the vehicle rearwards and forward.

As a generality I would find cars driven more in winter weather having boots fail sooner than their southern mates. My hypothesis was more dirt/salt/road grime in-between the humps of the bellows to act as a grinding compound onto the boot.

In my OCD world; I clean them during oil services (damp microfiber only) and spray them with silicone spray to keep them pliable. I also try to avoid full lock ( 5% less on the steering wheel means nothing) during parking maneuvers. But that's me...

During most of my professional tenure, BMW's were rear wheel drive only and since the rear wheels never had to steer, the boots lasted almost forever. Adding in the turning (now front or AWD) changed thing by orders of magnitude.

We've all heard the old Honda going clunkety clunk when parking in the lot at low speeds. Get the boot replaced at the very first sign of flung out CV Joint grease or noise.
 
Mine went out at less than 30,000miles. Dealer repaired under warranty
Just found out mine was cracked & leaking badly. Extended warranty did not cover it ({please no comments on those :) }. 62000 miles bought used 2.5+ years ago 2020. This is the first problem I’ve had except the usual tires & brakes needed.
