• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Having a hard time justifying the price.

Seriously tho - find a better dealer. I talked to at least 5 in the northern Chicago area, and ended up going with one practically on the Wisconsin border (Classic Kia in Waukegan) b/c they didn't have any of the dealer add-on garbage.
Almost all the dealers I've contacted in Souther California (San Diego up to Orange County) are charging over MSRP. It's hard to find a dealer that won't do it:(

Road trip from Dallas area? Haha. Maybe Arizona? There are suggestions in the Good Dealer listing on this forum... some people have had decent experiences with a couple of California dealers. But it seems that word has caught on... so it's getting harder and harder to find dealers willing to order and per-negotiate the price at MSRP or lower.

The 3rd row in the MDX is tiny and the exterior is dated.

We opted not to get the Telluride for a couple of reasons. Very nice vehicle. We drove the s, and the ex.

We ended up going with the Pilot EX-L. the only thing really lacking between the pilot and the Telluride is the adaptive cruise control with zero stop. The pilot cuts off at 23 miles an hour and then the driver has to take control. Lane keep assist work the same on both models. So the pilot in Telluride with comfortable there. Plus it has leather compared to the s. And around $4,000 cheaper. At least around here.

What all comes down to what's important to you. The problem with the Telluride release date is that it's competing with last year's models which are perfectly fine vehicles. That are selling for $5,000 to $7,000 less.

you don't have to buy now. You can always wait till March and probably save $5,000... And maybe as much as $7,000. some of the dealers around here or unwilling to remove the b******* packages that they add on for anywhere from $1,200 to $2,000. It's a money grab it. They know they can do it because the Telluride is a hot seller.

paying MSRP, or about $1,000 less than MSRP, plus tax title tag fees is expected. At least with the new release. If you like the vehicle, buy it. but I've watched enough YouTube videos to know, as well as a lot of people here, every vehicle has pros and cons. And it all comes down to trade-offs.

Well said, the Pilot has a proven track record. Drive safe.

What ended up happening? Did you get the Telly with the extras? @kelmen7
Vehicle still isn’t here. They told me it should be here next week. Also asked them about the extra $1800 worth of add ons they were going to charge me. They’re still going to add it! I’m pretty sure I’m not going to pick up the car after hearing this. I refuse to pay this out of principle. Probably going to pick up a one year used Audi or Volvo for a couple of years and wait out this craziness. The markups are so bad in Southern California.

If your heart is set on the Telluride, I'm sure the prices are going to drop huge Brown January. Isn't the 2021 expected in March of next year?

by then, the dealer I believe would be willing to forgo the $1,800 add-on crap.

The above assumes that this is glut of 2020s on the lot early next year.

Anyway, good luck.

Ovibos - did you order a Telluride from Classic Kia or buy a Telluride they had in inventory? I had the same experience with Chicagoland Kia dealers and hidden fees/add-ins, and also ended up at Classic Kia. Placed an order last week with them. As with any order, I am wondering how long it will take to accept the order, receive a VIN, and take delivery.

I would reconsider, I own an EX, live in Fl. and my dealer posts the build sheets on what is coming in when for all the customers to see. Saw what I could live with put down a 500.00 deposit which allowed me to test drive it when it came in and than negotiated trade and discount. i.e.- incentives, take their financing @1.9, get 1500 off plus another 500 rebate. Dealer received full mark up and Kia kicked in 2k. Their sister store is Wallace Hyundai and an SEL with convenience, premium and guidance packages could be had with a 10% discount. Plenty of Palisade made in Korea around. Kia made in GA. with Korean drivetain. Check freguency of repair data in consumer reports before buying a used MDX or China Volvo.

you make a good point. Why not ask them what is coming that is unsold over the next 6 wks. The General manager will have that info. and see if it suits your needs. leave refundable deposit and negotiate after you test drive. The dealer is entitled to full markup. work on incentives I saved 2k. That was factory participation. At this point based on dealer allocation, I would be surprised if they shipped more than 70,000 units by January.

Prices for the Telluride will not drop around January as there will not be a glut on the lots.

The Cadillac XT6 fully loaded just launched at close to $20,000 more than a fully equipped SXP. The Fully loaded Ford Explorer Platinum is over $60,000 MSRP. In short, the competition is, and will continue to make, the Telluride a tremendous value in the eyes of the market place.

Yes, Acura, VW Atlas, etc will continue to see huger mfr rebates to make their product more price-competitive with the market leading Telly/Pally.

The 2021 will not even begin production until July of next year and there will be very minimal changes from the 2020.

That all being said, I would not pay for the $1,800 add-on either.

I bought my SXP for $1K under MSRP plus Kia incentives from AllStar Kia in San Bernardino. Reach out to Jesse Diaz <JDiaz@allstarkia.net> Tell him Tim sent you. Good luck !

I ordered and it took a bit under 2months. They were the most straight up dealer I talked to by far. Len kept me appraised of what was happening.

I'm in San Diego, we weren't even in the market for a car. My friend bought the palisade and got our wheels turning. We had a paid off 2016 4runner that was bad ass looking and had 19,000 miles on it. We had been wanting a range rover but I couldnt get past the unreliability of the brand. When we saw the Telluride, we knew we wanted it. Kia of national city wanted 10k over and finally proposed I paid 87k for one (not a joke). I went north to Irvine. I paid 43500 for a white sx with black interior. We dont regret buying this thing as of yet. I have had many cars, this thing is sick!
