• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Having a hard time justifying the price.

Hello,
I have a Gravity Gray SX coming in any day now (San Diego) and I am having second thoughts about paying MSRP plus an $1800 package the dealer wants to add. We're now talking a little over $50k for a Kia! I know the reviews are great but my wife and I are seriously thinking about getting an Acura MDX SH-AWD for almost the same exact price. It's not as sexy as the Telluride but I've always heard that you should't buy a car off of emotion. The economics of this car are terrible! Am I crazy?

Tough call..... I have owned many SUV's: Ford, Mercedes, Escalade and others ( yes, I know I am fortunate to be able to do that) but this Telluride ( SX P ) is the equal or beyond them all in virtually every aspect of quality and performance for way less money and I am so glad to own it!! That being said......I have ALWAYS said to the sales guy....I will NEVER pay more than MSRP and NO packages added that I didn't specify. ( 50 years of new car buying)

I realize I am late to this discussion but I owned a 2018 mdx awd. Hated it traded it for Hyundai Santa Fe loaded in 2018. Just decided to trade the Hyundai for a Telluride. I love this car more than any I've ever had except my Porsche Cayman. It is so easy to live with. The MDX interface was awful and I hated the push button shifter. I realize the new MDX is different from mine but it sounds like the interface is still difficult to live with. Maybe I'm getting old but the Telluride is just easy. Ever replace an air filter on a Hyundai/Kia easiest ever. Never pay dealer to do that.

Almost forgot in February 2021 Raleigh NC area had 4 Kia dealers and 3 tellurides. Fayetteville had 1 and it was exactly how I wanted mine equipped. I paid slightly over retail but feel it was worth it. I have never paid over msrp before in 35 years of buying cars. Lady at dealership when I bought mine missed out and settled for Volvo xc 90. Dealers are advertising those at 8000 off msrp. Ultimately the vehicle market sets the prices.
