Headlight Led Upgrade

Can’t say enough about the Twelvolts! It feels like they were made for the Telluride. 1. The effective lumen rating is just enough to be better than HIDs
2. Not so bright that you get a ton of glare and I am not blinding oncoming traffic
3. Chip placement is just right to get rid of all dark spots
4. The white color matches the daytime LEDs exactly
5. The install was clean and wires tuck nicely in the housing with no special cutting or mounting
6. The price was great

I almost bought Sylvania 9005 SilverStar Ultra halogen bulbs to replace the OEMs. Needless to say I am very happy the Twelvolt Premium LEDs for only a little more!
NCTELLY, which one you bought ? Night blaster or precision projector ?

9005 LED Headlight Bulbs Mini Sized CanBus Ready 80W 16,000LM/Pair, AUXITO 9005 (HB3) Headlight LED Bulb Conversion Kit, 6500K Xenon White, Pack of 2

Probably it's considering my post as spam as I am new member. I used these from Amazon and they are very good fit for LX.
How do you like them? Are they working fine?

The lights from Twelvolt look awesome. Super bright and did the trick. One complaint and im not sure how to avoid it besides shutting off the start stop. When the car restarts at night the lights do a quick flash

Do you leave the headlight switch in auto or headlights on when you shutoff? I haven’t noticed this but as an old habit I always shut off the headlights before turning the vehicle off. I will experiment with mine but I wonder if this is more about the vehicle than it is the bulb. I also wonder if this is the canbus in the vehicle’s wiring checking to make sure that an HID is present and working before throwing an error on the dash.

Your old ones do a quick flash too, but being incandescent type bulbs, you don't see it. LED's are instant on and off.. My Stinger GT2 and Tellurdie SX do it also because it has LEDs. Mine doesn't do it anymore since I always turn the feature off, but this is normal for LED's.

I am not talking about initial start up of the vehicle. I am talking about the auto start stop feature. When you let off the brake and the car starts back up the lights do one quick flash.

Correct.. when restarting, there is a load on the electrical system.. the LED's will flash.. Halogens won't because they aren't an instant on/off bulb.

Hi. In case you are reading this on a Sunday, I am about to change mine but I’m a little confused if I’m supposed to be on screwing anything or if it’s all with the hands. I noticed once you unscrew the cap there are a couple tiny screws there but I don’t know if those need to come out in order to release the bulb. Any chance you’re reading this on a Sunday?. I am a novice and trying to figure this out. Ha ha

No tools necessary, all done by hand. Very straightforward. Only difficult parts were the tight quarters, making it difficult to turn your hand a certain way and aligning the tabs on the new bulb.

Thanks for such A fast reply. I really appreciate it. However what I’m confused about is the part that I could twist by hand versus what 12 V sent me.image.webp

I don’t understand the match up. In my hand is all I could do with twisting at that angle.

Point the led chip wedge up. You’ll notice on both the OEM bulb and the LED there is a rubber gasket, right behind it there is a plastic part with three tabs. Once inserted it fits in and only requires a small twist to lock.

Actually got it. Didn’t realize I just have to Get the longer wiring and cables attached the 12 V bulb inside the casing. So I think I am OK now. Again thanks for the quick reply I appreciate it

The bulb will fit either a 9005 or a 9006. The only different is the extra ring is a slightly different size. You can toss it.

I am not trying to suggest any specific LED bulb for the Telluride but have been through probably 6 different brands with my 2017 pickup truck. Very poor original headlights and fog lights. My truck has low beam projector housings and the high beams are a reflector housings. I tried LED bulbs in the low beam projector housing to take the place of the halogen and they didn't work very good. Some I tried put out less lux than the halogen. Others were brighter but the beam pattern was so scattered there was no light focused down the road. I did stumble across a web site called Headlight Revolution that had a ton of videos comparing a bunch of LED bulbs in different types and brands of headlight housings. They were already very familiar with the poor headlights on my specific truck and suggested HID's for me. After spending a bunch of money on different LED's from Amazon and other places the 55 watt HID's were the only thing that was better in my housings than the halogen and they were TREMENDOUSLY better. HID's can be a pain to implement in vehicles due to the ballasts needed so they very well may not fit in the telluride. Also HID's have to warn up so in my case with two different light bulbs in separate housings I had to put LED's in my high beams for an instant on when I needed them. My wifes SX came with LED's that are really fantastic so haven't had to look into replacing them and don't know how confined the space is. I have found that the claims on how bright the LED's are on Amazon and some other sites are not always accurate or at least the light they claim they put out is not very usable. There is just a lot of usable information on Headlight Revolution that may help you to decide on what may work. The same bulb in one housing will work really well but be awful in another brand housing. They also have videos on you tube. At least it helped me decide on the best Kelvin (color) for my HID's but LED's are very limited on color and 6000k seems to be the most available. 5000K is definitely the best color for my specific needs but couldn't find LED's that worked very well for the high beams in that color. I ended up going all 6000k to match and it actually seemed to work much better maybe due to my eyes not having to adjust to the different colors. Sorry for being so long winded but it was a very difficult and expensive journey to find what worked in my vehicle and wanted to try and help out.

This is great and I been down the same road with testing different LED's (4 Brands) I gave up and kept a pair of SeaLight from Amazon thank God for a Prime account easy return process. I was browsing and came across the Headlight Revolution great information for all types of LED. Hopefully they can review the Telluride one day seems the website focus more on Trucks etc..
