If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just finalized my purchase on a 2022 Telluride SX AWD in Wolf Gray, Prestige/Nightfall/Towing options.

Definitely excited about this car. I'm going to be installing some factory options that I didn't get from the factory so I may type up some how-to's for them at some point.

Little about me, I used to own a 1992 Nissan 300zx that I did a Twin Turbo swap in, built the motor to handle north of 1100hp. Only had about 750 to the wheels but if I wanted more I didn't want to have to rebuild it.

Currently I drive a 2016 Ram 2500 diesel and the Telluride will be my wife's car. I like the outdoors, camping, hunting, riding my Teryx, and spending time with my two sons and wife.

Can't wait to get to know everyone here and I hope to be a good addition to the family.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! Wow, that 300ZX must have been fast. That's a lot of power to the wheels of a light car. That had to be a low 10 second quarter mile huh?

Hey Luke, where did you purchase your vehicle from if I may ask? Also, what do you mean finalized your purchase? Is it on order still and when is your delivery date?

Thnx
Mark

I actually input a build with Costco and had multiple dealers contact me, one of them said that he had a Telluride exactly like I had built minus a few add-ons (lights, cargo cover, etc). He said it would be here around 5/7 so I pulled the trigger and put a deposit down to hold it. It's Country Kia here in CA.

Not a fan of the markup but my wife's Mercedes needs to be replaced asap so I can't wait the 6 months to order from Colorado or another state. Luckily the Mercedes is paid off and is actually worth the markup more than it was pre-covid, so I'm not too mad about it.

Yes, it was supposed to be a high 9 low 10 second car, but if I got bigger turbos and injectors it would've been even faster. That was my main constraint with HP.

I only took it to the strip once, right after my TT swap/build. I ran 12.3 but burned my clutch up (it was the stock one as I hadn't changed it yet) I only made it through the first two gears 😂 then coasted in neutral to the finish.

Reason why I ask, I too am getting my Telluride from Kia Country. Mine is to come in 4/29, ordered 1/23, and just go the VIN #. Kia Country has been great with calming me down and telling me the car is coming and it is mine. The markup, yeah I was upset, but how much I got for my used subaru is all relative. However, my Vin has been on Failcat since 3/2 and a 4/29 ETA. I see yours was on 3/17, so you might not get yours until mid May. Hopefully both of our Tellis are on the same train:)

Haha that's so funny it's the same dealer!

My ETA is 5/07, Failcat is 3/17.

Where about are you located? I'm out in Herald.

So far I'm not a huge fan of Kia Country. Sales guy told me to submit my credit stuff to get the vehicle locked down, I told him I'm putting 22k down all my income, etc. He said that everything looked good and all he needed was $1000 to hold it. This was yesterday, I had a doctor appointment for my son in Roseville and told him I could come in Thursday (Is my day off), his manager said they can't hold it and I just have to hope no one else puts a deposit down first. Strike one for them.

My wife was pissed but I raced down there to place the deposit before my sons doctor appointment...Then I text the guy when I got home asking for the ETA. He told me 5/7, I was like "Ok great, is there a chance it can be late?", he was like "It's definitely possible." I then told him that we have a family trip to Disneyland planned around that time and so if it's late I may not be able to get it until I get back in town. Then he tells me that if I don't pick it up in 48 hours that it will be sold to someone else and my deposit returned!! Strike two.

Hopefully that doesn't happen but we will see. I will be really upset with them if they pull something like that.

I am near Walnut Creek. I had the same thing about securing the deposit before anyone else. Went down there to put the deposit down. I was upset at first, but seeing all these others on this forum that have had to wait some 8 months for a car...crazy. That is how it is with these vehicles. They are very hard to get.

I talk to my sales guy today, and he assured me that my VIN is MY car. He will not sell it to another. So, I will take their word for it and pray. But, I think the ETA will be a 3 weeks or more from initial date given. It is hard to get these cars out this far considering train then truck. Funny thing is, my car is built, and it will take 6 weeks to get out here. F#*K!! Me!!

So far I've been dealing with Sam as my sales guy. Joe the manager is the one I've been having the issues with. Sam has been great.

Hey Luke, just thought i would check in with you to see if you heard anymore about your order from Kia Country. You get a delivery date from them, or anything?

I actually haven't heard a single thing from the dealer since I left my deposit.

How about you?

I just called yesterday and they said 5/4 which is earlier than what Stephen told me last week. So, I think it might be the real date. Let’s hope, I need a car:)
