• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I have this stain on my seat in my SX. I have no idea what it is but nothing I've tried so far is making a dent - not even getting a little bit of color transfer. I've tried just a sani-wipe I had in my car for disinfecting my hands and the Griot's Leather Care. ***EDIT: I've tried nail polish remover, isopropyl alcohol and hairspray, per internet searches on how to remove stains from leather. Nothing worked.**

Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can use? I was thinking about the old hair spray on leather trick to remove stains.

Looks like something from sliding in. Blue Jeans by chance? This happened in my mom's Buick Enclave. Blue jean die transfer. This is why I always get black leather interior.

could it be that the leather is actually a black base coat? And the dune brown color rubbed off from being scratched?

I use Adams polishes leather cleaner and leather conditioner. Using that other stuff you mentioned could ruin the surface and/or permanently set the stain. Adams polishes leather cleaner has always safely removed due transfer from light colored leathers. But, you must always follow up with a conditioner such as Griots.

No, unfortunately. It seems to be fading over time but it's dye transfer from a purse and a spray of isopropyl alcohol accidentally getting on it while disinfecting my hands.
