• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I am looking at buying a hitch carrier and hope for feedback. I am looking at a non folding shank. Therefor the carrier will be leveled at the upper end of the hitch receiver. This beg 3 questions : 1- Since the exhaust ia a straight out but will fume just under the carrier does is need a heat sheild to prevent possible melting of combustible cargo. Second question: Does it need a set of remote lights since the turn signal are low of the bumper. Third question I am in Ontario and will be driving from Michigan to Utah. Do I need to affix the license plate on the carrier since its view will be blocked by the cargo. I will not use the toll in Illinois.

Thank you

I have one of these and love it. It curves up to clear the exhaust and a heat shield is not required, but doesn't hurt.
