• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I just purchased my new Telluride last week. I'm being told the hitch is on back order and won't be in for 2-3 months!!

Did you take delivery? Which version? (SX?) Did you order the Factory hitch or dealer installed? I have a factory tow pkg SX on order targeted for mid June delivery.

I took delivery, I have the "S" model. It will be installed by the dealer. I just thinks it's kinda crappy of Kia that these weren't ready to go when the car was made available to the public.

Is dealer installed same as factory installed? I’m guessing you’ll pay same but not get the same?

It is not. The dealer option is simply the tow hitch. The factory option includes the rear height adjusting suspension to offset tongue loads.

That’s what I thought. And if you want the hitch might as well pay for factory! I don’t think I would tow but would put bikes in the back.

I wonder what the aftermarket ones will cost and be available. I wold like to assume that etrailer or curt will have one. I will only really be using it for a bike rack.

One dealer told me it is better do the hitch at uhaul instead of at his shop. He says they do hitches the best and the cost lower, and guess what.... when they have a hitch install job, they send it out to.... uhaul.

What worries me about uhaul hitch install vs dealer hitch install is I believe you’ll have to cut off a piece of body work to put it in, and I am not so sure about letting uhaul do this.

Another thing on bike racks... they are notorious for blocking rear view cameras and setting off rear sensor signals....

Curt for sure. Probably around $250. I just need it to haul bikes too. Its DYI if you are not worried about wiring.

I put one on my 2008 Highlander that was replaced by the Telluride. Easy to do. Maybe they will also make a cutout panel for the back to go with it.
