  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... After 2 Honda Odrsseys (Elites) to transport three granddaughters, we are switching to a 3 row SUV. Why? All wheel drive + increased road clearance = better in the snow in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

We will get our Telluride (top of the line AWD) in mid November after a 7 month wait.

Congrats! You will enjoy your new ride, I guarantee!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride. I'm glad you found us! :)

@tomewilson I'm also in Minnesota, and will be receiving in mid-November after a 7 month wait as well! 😆 May I ask which dealership you ordered from? How has your experience been so far with the ordering process/receiving updates?

We too are moving out of an Odyssey...a 2011 EXL with Navigation. Has been the most unreliable vehicle I have owned in the past 25 years - over $18K in repairs in the past 9.5 years. I keep saying "surely this will be the last repair we are going to have" because it is a Honda afterall. Best thing about the Odyssey was the 8 year Honda Care+ warranty and the quality of the leather seats. Three kids and the interior has held up very well. Hoping the Telluride SXP holds up on the inside as well as the Honda did. But it won't be hard for the Telluride to be more reliable than our crap van. The bar is pretty low.

I always find myself driving my in-laws 2019 Odyssey during road trips. While it's nice, I'm secretly hoping when they see my Telluride that they will replace the van with one lol. One thing I hate with the van is how they moved the 2nd-row air vents from the top, to by the doors on the bottom. I don't care about cool knees, I want my bald ass head to be cool and not sweaty.

I'm in Minnesota and also upgrading from a Honday Odyssey ('06). AWD + seating + cargo + towing + decent mileage, in a darn compelling design & drive experience, FTW!

I initially ordered from Luther Kia. I couldn't get straightforward responses from my salesperson on what stage I was at -- e.g. how many in front of me for custom orders, their monthly allotment amount, and on follow-up phone calls whether I was in KFOS or not, etc.

I subsequently "doubled down" putting in an order through KIA St Cloud as well (both were $500 refundable), on the recommendation of a poster on this forum. Figured I see who got in the order first. I had better confidence in this route, as the sales person was very knowledgeable. This dealer also does a 20yr/200k warranty, at no additional charge. But man they were horrible at any follow-up communication. :/ My only receipt for my deposit was my credit card bill. I didn't hear anything further from them, unless I reached out.

A couple of weeks ago I found a match for my build preference at Edwards Kia in Council Bluffs IA and gave them a ring. The vehicle I'd found was spoken for but after talking with the salesperson for a while and recognizing each other on another Telly forum, he let me know about a near-identical match (with just two extra options I'm not interested in: carpeted floormats, interior light kit) which already in KFOS and the person who ordered decided to make a color switch. I contacted both MN dealers to see if they had any update for me on timing, and with none, I canceled both of those orders and put the deposit down on the one in IA. Follow up communication has been excellent, and it's so far been a very good experience. ETA Nov 5. In theory. 🤞

Yeah - I looked at the new Odyssey on one of my many dealership visits to have repairs done and I found the vent placement weird. Not as good as the prior set up. Also - the magic slide seats and re-shaped door opening made the access to the 3rd row not as good as the prior generation. I really think Honda and Toyota opened themselves up to some sales flight risk with their current boring designs. I really think after people have opened their eyes to the Telluride - the Sedona has a good chance of stealing some sales from the two Japanese brands. Clearly - people are willing to spend money on a KIA now that they are bringing their A-Game. Hopefully the good folks on this forum representing the brand like @StephenCantrelle will be able to sell lots of the new Sedona's when they land here next year.

Also another Minnesotan who just ordered a Telluride. I ordered mine from Lupient KIA in Brooklyn Park on 09/04/2020. Congrats on the new Telluride! I am just starting my (hopefully) 6 month wait.

We traded in our 2005 Odyssey for an Telluride EX-P a couple weeks ago. I loved the Odyssey, but already love the Telly as much or more. Aside from giving up a little cargo space (it's tough to compete with a minivan where space is concerned...), the only thing I miss about the Odyssey so far is the big tray between the driver and front passenger seat that was perfect for holding fast food meals. I think it's a small price to pay.

Another Minnesotan! Winter is coming- starting to plan out my winter tire plan...

Looks like I may have mine towards the end of Winter so let me know what you decide. I've also been looking. I found the Toyo Open Country A/T III at Discount Tire. They are severe snow rated and carry the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol. They also look aggressive and will be nice for some of the forest roads. They're available in 245/50R20. But... again, I do not have the Telluride.
