If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... How did you get interested in Telluride?

Good call on going with the SX. The small premium over the EX Premium really is worth it.
I had originally ordered an EX Premium, but after reading some posts here on this forum, I decided to change my order (even though it put me in the back of the line) to the SX NF (non-prestige) for just a couple grand more. I feel pretty good about that decision.

I was pretty convinced that I was going to get a Palisade. I went to the Hyundai dealer and had a pretty good deal, a bit less than 2 K under MSRP. This from a dealer that had been marking them up a few thousand dollars about six months ago. I had waited it out, since I really didn't need a new car that bad. I mean my Toyota Sienna is a 2005 and it has less than 140 K miles on it and it still runs dang good.
Anyhow, I wanted to just go look at the Toyota Highlander one last time, before I went into contract on the Palisade. I went there and confirmed I still didn't like it that much and it was too small for me. The salesman told me to go to their Kia dealer and check out the Tellurides. I had seen pictures online and I didn't think I really liked them, but I thought why not just go check them out? So I did and from that moment on, I knew it was going to be my next car. Well, actually after I drove it I knew I was going to have one. It was amazing how nice it drove. Well, I drove it, no wait, it kind of drove itself. I tried out the lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, etc. It is loaded with safety features and so much more as I am sure we all know.
I just ordered an SX with Towing Package in the most beautiful color ever...........Everlasting Silver.
I think I have 28 SX's ahead of me on order, so I am sure I will be waiting a long time, but better than paying those ridiculous amounts over MSRP.
I too almost got the EX Premium, but you are right, at that point, we are only about 3K away from the SX without the Prestige.
I love this forum. We have so many nice people that are so willing to help with advice on buying, options, etc.
Also, I remember asking my friend a couple of years ago, why in the world did she buy a KIA and now, here I am.:sneaky: That is supposed to be a sheepish face. 😉
You did pick the most beautiful color ever!!! Great story.

This was about two years ago, perhaps Sep 2018. I was at a car show looking at a CX9. Had already decided to go with the CX9 but wanted my daughter and wife to get a feel for the car. The family loved it and was sold on the Mazda. We had time to kill so we headed over to the KIA area just because it was close by. Sat inside the car and was blown away by the interior space and quality compared to the CX9. Not sure of the pricing yet at the time and still wasn’t very interested because it was a “Kia”.

One year later, we played golf near the plant at West Point and I noticed two of them parked side by side and along side a Yukon. They looked so nice sitting there next to the Yukon. They had a masculine yet luxurious presence. I was in love! I almost missed my tee time as I kept going back to take a second look.

I kept reading and researching and wanting every reason in the world to not buy a Telluride. Being a first year model was a concern but after reading about Kia and Hyundai’s famous warranties, and watching almost every Telluride YouTube videos the concern was short lived.

As you all can relate, I have never been more excited to handover $50K and waiting so long for a vehicle, a Kia of all vehicles!

The 100k drive train warrenty was one of the factors that went into my buying a new Hyundai Santa Fe back in 2007. I still have that car with over 315,000 miles on the odometer. The Santa Fe was the best car I've ever owned and still looks great and drives great. I did have to drop in a new (rebuilt) transmission at around 280k, and now something has given out in the timing chain area (sounds like a dampner or guide has broken and is clanking around). Even though I'm getting the Telly, I'm still debating whether to repair the Timing chain on the SF and keep it as a beater, or just give it away to charity (or maybe sell it cheap as a fixer-upper).

As I type this, I'm 6 days away from taking delivery of my new Telly and I'm super excited. I suspect I'm not the only one who has been binge-watching YouTube videos about the Telly every day!

LOL. 13K+ members on this forum. I’m sure we are all contributing a tiny bit to the views and subscribers of all those car reviewers.

Congrats and can’t wait to see your baby.

You will be very pleased with the Telly. I know you’re excited.

I was told my eta was 10/29. I was pleasantly surprised, and taken off guard when the GM called me and told me my Telly was there and ready for delivery. That was on 10/15, two weeks early. Please make sure you post photos of your baby when she arrives.

I was watching car review videos on YouTube, looking to replace my 2011 Ford Edge. I randomly came across it on the ‘Straight Pipes’. That episode pretty much sold it.

Before August, I didn’t know it existed.

I fell in love with my Telluride by accident literally after taking a perfect square impact at 60mph into the rear of my Explorer Sport whilst stationary on I-75 from a F150. Car was folded and a write off so went running to Gwinnett Ford to look at another Sport and right next door was the KIA dealership. As soon as I saw the Telluride I knew it was the right choice and one hour later was all signed up for my new vehicle....best decision for a long time, feel more secure and safer and like everything about it

I am just about to retire. As in ... six days from now. I've been extremely fortunate to have a fantastic perk for my entire career - almost 40 years of a company-paid car. At first, I received a new car every year, and for the last 15 years it's been every two years. With gas, insurance, and maintenance, it's saved me an enormous amount of money, and I recognize how lucky I've been. Now, that said, it's also meant that I have had almost no say in what I drive. I've had a couple of vehicles to choose from each time (nice cars but not great), and a few colors. In looking forward to retirement for the past couple of years, I've frequently daydreamed about what I'd choose. I looked at virtually every SUV on the market, including all the luxury models, went to multiple car shows, test drove a ton. Finally decided there was no reason to spend any more. One thing I was set on from the beginning: I ordered Ebony Black. For all of my company cars, I've never had the option to choose a black car. I know it isn't the most practical, but for my retirement present to myself, I decided to get the exact car I wanted. ETA is currently 28 days from now, so we'll have to manage with a single vehicle for the home stretch. Can't wait!
This sounds like me. About 6 months before I retired, I started looking at the new Ford Explorer. I worked for 30 years and always had a company car. The car I was driving before I retired was a Ford Explorer and I actually liked it, so it made sense to me to check out the new 2020s. As I was doing reviews and building the Platinum model on Fords site, a colleague told me to check out this new Kia Telluride. He showed me a photo of the Moss Green SXP and I was blown away by the looks. So that triggered me to do extensive research and reviews. I was impressed by all the positive reviews and the awards it won. My research led me to this forum. Again, I was impressed by all the positive comments here. But I still had yet to see one or drive one. My friend who purchased a Moss Green EX came to my house with his brand new Telluride. He let me go over the vehicle and test drive it. My wife and I were blown away. So, I made way to the Kia Dealership in April and test drove an EX again and was truly impressed. I placed an order for a Everlasting Silver SXP with tow in April, hoping to get my new Telluride by July 1, 2020, the day I would retire and be without my own vehicle. Needless to say, July 1, came and went and I was without a vehicle, other than the 2018 Honda Pilot Touring that my wife had. Knowing that Covid had hit and the Kia plant was shut down, I contemplated just buying the Ford Explorer Platinum. But this forum and my determination to get this Telluride kept me focused. I was determined to wait as long as I needed to to get what I wanted. Then on July 23, I received the phone call from my dealer telling me that I was able to place my order via KFOS. I knew at that point that there was light at the end of the tunnel. Everyday I would check FailCat waiting for my VIN to pop. Then on September 26, it happened. I was given an ETA of October 29, 2020. And for those who have been following me, you all know I was pleasantly surprised when I received the call on October 15, telling me my vehicle arrived and was ready for delivery. I can tell you all unequivocally, that the wait and whole experience, albeit frustrating on many levels throughout the process, was well worth the wait. I absolutely love this vehicle. For those trying to decide or feeling like it’s too long of a wait, I will tell you to stick it out. It’s definitely worth the frustration and wait. That’s my story and I am sticking to it.

Although it looks like the Exploder did a great job in protecting you guys, I bet its night and day difference between it and your new Telluride for ride, features, and quality isn't it?!

Great story, and so similar to mine!

I planned to go from a 2015 Durango to a 2020 or 2021 Durango. I was about to deploy to Afghanistan soon so I told my wife I’d just get rid of the Rango and drop like 15-20k on the downpayment after my deployment to offset the 55,000 MSRP. The more I began to crunch numbers the more I started to wonder why I wanted another 50k+ dodge gas guzzler. So I started looking for similar sized SUVs that were better on gas (I drive 30 minutes of highway to work every morning). I found the 2020 Traverse was a top 2 contender as I thought it looked cool. I ended up seeing a Dark Moss Telluride at a hotel and I literally got all up in their stuff, Looked in every single window 😂😂. Dune brown SX with prestige package. Ended up changing my mind because I personally HATE chrome accent, to the point where I don’t even want it on my door handles. Long story short while I was in Crapghanistan my wife sends me a link to an article about the nightfall package and I was like yep. Now I have an ETA of December 22 and literally dying from anticipation. I wanted the SX P, in Wolf Gray but the dealer I live 5 minutes from had an EX P on order in WG already priced MSRP at 44370 so I just scooped that up. I feel it has everything the Durango has for almost 5-10k cheaper and better on gas. Win win! I did however just get a 2020 Acadia for the wife and I will say while it is not as nice as the Telluride and was 14,000 cheaper it is incredibly spacious and has captains chairs as well. You’d have to get the Denali to match the quality of the lowest model Telluride 🤷🏾‍♂️.
