• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Ride quality at 64000 miles is like a Jeep Wrangler 2 door. I’ve never used it to tow and even when brand new never had same ride quality as standard suspension. I’d like to replace self leveling with standard shocks. Sorry can’t locate existing thread on this topic.

Are you trying for a DIY or do you plan on having it done by a shop? If the latter, I would just take it to the shop and let them research it for you.

I took it to my preferred shop and they contacted local KIA dealer who said it can’t be done

Part of the reason is that the leaf springs and other suspension components are different in the back due to the bigger shocks. Yes, they will sit lower than the standard ones when parked but they should level up when you're driving and have some weight in the back. You may want to get them checked. Although you haven't towed, it may be time to replace them.

Pappy's explanation sounds right. It MAY be that the shocks (on one of them) has worn out. If so, I would hope that your warranty would cover this, especially with the mileage only at 64K. Anyway, sounds like you need to have your dealer do a test drive to evaluate.

I think it probably needs new rear suspension components but want standard installed rather than the towing.

Welcome! Just noting that this topic has been moved out of the community lounge and into the Telluride suspension forum...

Can’t hurt, I’ll give them a call

Just make sure you are in the car with them for the test drive so that you can point out where and how the ride is defective. Dealers have a way of not wanting to admit a fault if they can sluff it off.
