How do I turn off battery discharge warning?

Actually, nothing was debunked. If I shut the car off with the windows open and don't touch anything (didn't touch the Start button to turn on Accessory Mode or touch the brake), the warning keeps flashing.

When you shut off the car, accessory mode is on by default. Doesn’t matter if your radio is on or not, doesn’t matter if you didn’t press the start button once more after shutting the engine off. Power to accessories still on. Open your door and then close it. Your problems will go away.

I tried but can’t replicate your problem. Can you take a video of it happening?

Car running, roll down window, turn off car, open close drivers door, show warning.

I apologize for bringing up this old post. I had the same issue before with my 2015 Tucson. The most common problem with this is the IC regulator, or voltage regulator, located at the back end of the alternator. You can have it checked to find out if it is the one that is causing the warning message. You can also suspect the serpentine belt; visually check your belts connected to your alternator's pulley if they're not worn out. I did a lot of searches on this issue and came across an in-depth article that may be worth reading. I hope this information can assist someone else with a similar issue.

The question is, will sitting in the car for 30 or 60 minutes with the radio on really drain my battery and prevent the car from starting? If not, please don’t ping me ever 2 minutes with a pointless reminder. I don’t need to waste gas to listen to the radio while my kid’s at practice, or whatever.

If you're looking for an answer for this with a Kia Sportage or Hyundai Tucson from 2020 onwards, the beep is tied to navigation. You need to slide the Navigation Alert bar down to 0 in Navigation sound settings.
