Sorry this isn't about the Telly but it shocked me. I want to know more. I'm actually debating my wife to not get the Atlas.
I agree with u. I just don't want my wife to use this as ammoThis is a list of three different car classes, midsize-suv, large-suv and compact-suv.
So the expedition and santa fe aren’t really competing in the same space. They said the expedition because of it’s large size, and the santa fe because it’s smaller and more affordable.
The Atlas probably won because cars.com is already biased and loves that suv. They even had to reference that it won their 2017 and 2018 top picks. The one main advantage for the Atlas is the tilt and slide function of the 2nd row bench seats, which is advantageous for families with car seats. Since this is a top pick list for families, it is not too surprising it won.
However, if this was a top pick list for newest, tech and feature packed, best looking and most spacious interior 3-row midsize-suv, you know it would be Telluride all the way.

My wife really liked the XC90 too but would be too expensive. I test drove an EX NF and loved it. She is ok with the Telly for now, but we will see when we get close to Feb (when my lease runs out on current car).fight the urge to give up on attempting a test drive of your chosen model, it'll likely seal a deal for you & your wife.
we were sold on an XC90 (paid a refundable deposit) until we got to test drive an SX at the 11th hour; cancelled the Volvo & ordered the Telly.
Atlas rated LAST in it's class for Reliability and customer satisfaction. We talked about this 2 weeks ago and posted the CR review in April of all cars this this class, by price. Search the forum, you will find the discussion.Cars.com is one of the few publications (or YTers) which does not have the Telluride at the top of its rankings (bested by its cousin, the Palisade).
This is a separate list for family vehicles and the Atlas gets high marks for its roomy interior which belies its size (think only the Traverse has more room but it even larger).
The Atlas can be had with deep discounts, but it's reliability (according to CR) has been near the bottom, but may be a "good buy" if leasing or only planning to keep during the warranty period.
