Did yours get fixed? Mine was an issue with the transmission control module. I’ve been offered a replacement however Kia won’t cover CA sales tax which is ridiculous. Still in discussions.
Haven’t checked this thread in a while but curious if this was resolved? I ended up getting a replacement due to my first being a lemon. So far the replacement is doing great. 4K miles and loving it.Same issue here. Our Dark Moss Telluride S arrived at the dealership on Tuesday. We picked it up yesterday and almost immediately noticed that something was not right with the transmission. Every shift was hard and it struggled to find a gear. After 28 scary miles it’s back in the dealership. The master tech states that it’s likely going to need a new transmission but couldn’t give me a timeframe on how long it would take. We’re anxiously waiting to see what happens.

Get a lawyer and start a lemon claim but check the minimum days required out of service within your state. The law is on your side to protect against lemon vehicles. How did you get a replacement? They’ve had ours for almost two weeks now and still cannot figure out why the engine light is going on. We’re very concerned. They did say something about misfiring so now my husband is worried the cars damaged and wants a replacement. We have no idea how to go about this. It’s crazy, we thought a new car was the solution to not having to fix our old truck anymore and here we are. It shouldn’t be this way.
Make sure you are keeping very detailed records. Dates of when it went into the shop and came out. What the reasons were for why it went in, what they worked on, etc. Each state has its own rules on how many times the vehicle has gone into the shop for the same issue and/or how long the shop has kept you from the vehicle. I don't necessarily think you need a lawyer, just really good records. My brother got a Tesla lemon. He is not a lawyer. Kept incredibly detailed records. Went to arbitration with Tesla. Tesla's lawyer was involved. My brother won based on the record kept. Tesla's argument was that the issue ultimately got fixed. My brothers position was that it was in the shop more than the required number of times for the same issue and he was without his vehicle for over the number of days noted in the California lemon law. The fact that the issue might have gotten fixed forever was irrelevant. Got a total refund of his purchase. No depreciation. How did you get a replacement? Sorry for the question how many time have they tried to repair the transmission issue ?The new transmission came in but before that, Kia consumer affairs offered me 3 car payments as a courtesy but when they sent the offer it included a contract to release all
Liability so I’d be stuck with this car and could never file as lemon suit which is basically extortion. So I didn’t sign it. The new transmission was installed with no success- the same issues showed up along with the same error code on mile 16 of the test drive. So the new transmission completely failed and I’m on day 22 and counting.
Hi G, Curious as to how your problem got resolved or handled ? I purchased in Aug 2020 and our same problem started the first week of Nov 2020 and still ongoing as of this day.How did you get a replacement?
