If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... (im)patiently waiting in raleigh, nc :)

Ethics & car dealerships are a mismatch even when used in a sentence together.
I checked with them again last week when they called to confirm the delivery date. Paying a deposit did not prevent them from increasing the msrp by $600 before delivery - Kia increased the price & they can’t do anything about it, They know very well that they can always use the “we’ll be happy to refund your deposit” tagline & get away with it every time.
They might try tacking on the $3k package for me too, I wouldn’t put it past them.
The delivery day is going to be one long day.
Good luck with taking delivery. Hopefully it won't be all that bad and you'll have one great ride when you're done.

We ordered ours in mid-October and are still waiting to hear if we've even had the order accepted yet. Originally told 3-4 months when we placed the order. This dealership is supposed to be moving 30+ Tellurides a month, which is far more than other dealerships in the surrounding areas, yet I see other people who ordered from the smaller dealers taking delivery of their orders in 3-4 months from the time of order. Something just feels off. Part of me feels like they are selling MSRP orders at a markup if someone offers them more and then are simply placing a 2nd order.

Got an update from my sales guy that there are more than 200 ahead of me in line.

That 6 month delivery time really evaporated for me today. Hoping their allocations increase and the wait isn’t 10+ months.

I went back and compared my order and window sticker again. I was wrong - it's about $400 higher on the window sticker compared to the order receipt. Increased in MSRP and inland freight and handling fee. The add ons (package, paint, accessories) are all the same price.

Picked up mine yesterday. Around a $600 increase from when the order was placed. Price for the oil change plan also went up from $300 to $450.
Overall it was a no pressure buying experience. Was in & out in under 2 hours & that included about 45 mins the sales person spent explaining the new car features.
Every car ordered after Dec 2021 will have the $3k add on. I guess that’s better than paying market adjustment to other dealers - atleast you get something for what you pay extra.

You should hear back from them soon. I ordered mine on 02/10/21 & took delivery last week. I guess wait times could vary based on trim & color.
Which dealership was this?

Hi! Delivery was delayed that week or so the dealer warned us about - to 5/5 last we heard. We’re currently out of the country on our honeymoon so we hope to have it within the next couple days of returning to the states. I actually texted him this morning to see if we’re still looking at 5/5 delivery, waiting to hear back! Happy to not have had to deal with it before leaving though so it was a welcomed delay for us!!

At least the delay worked in your favor! Enjoy your honeymoon! :)

As of Monday it was on a truck en route to Cary. It arrived sometime this week! They asked for a couple days to process, inspect, etc, so we’ve currently got a meeting scheduled for Monday night to go buy it! Woo hoo! Finally!

I was notified on Monday that my order was picked up. Finally! I have an ETA of 12/7, but they said that could shift. I was starting to wonder if I would be waiting until 2023 to get my car. When I updated my order on 9/28 to a 2023 they told me I was #98 in line. I was amazed I moved up that quickly. Hopefully that means production is picking up for everyone else that is still waiting.

Hey my fellow tar heels. Lived in Silver City, Raleigh, Youngsville, Morehead City, Southport, and Hickory. Walked into a dealer near Charlotte, drove off in a new 23 Prestige. I read so many stories of people waiting months for their Tellie....guess I just got lucky.

You sure did. I live in Greenville and could not get any of the local dealers to order one for less than MSRP + 5-10k mark up. I ordered from Lucas in Muncie, Indiana and waited 10 months for mine. But I did get exactly what I wanted and Lucas and staff could not have been more pleasant!! And paid well below MSRP to boot!!!!
