• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Installed Proximity Door Lock/Unlock Module

Yes this will affect the ability to lock the car. It will think you are still in it. My Telluride got broken into because my wife had my 2nd FOB in her purse which was left in the car. Someone was checking for unlocked doors and came across ours. Now you want to talk about a pain in the ass and how USELESS Kia dealerships are to help you out at a time when your car can be stolen at any moment out of your driveway. I was told it was 2 weeks before they could even get to it and it was going to cost about $800 to replace computer, door lock and FOBs. Luckily, after I got off that call someone called and they had ditched the keys and they were found with a prescription of my wife's so the doctors office called. Sorry for the long story but don't leave an extra set of keys in the car! Even without the auto locks because one press of the button and they can get in.
The proximity module won't lock the vehicle if the second remote is left in the vehicle. You can however manually lock the vehicle with the fob that is not in the vehicle. The button on the door will only unlock the vehicle when the fob that manually locked it is nearby. Or you could manually unlock the vehicle w/the fob.

The unlock is mandatory. The lock is optional. I turned that off because it would lock when I didn't want, like when doing a touchless car wash, walking around the vehicle.
OK, so are there unlock options? Like just the driver's door or all doors? Kinda replicating the single vs double press of the button on the driver's door handle. I could live with just the driver door unlocking.

I installed the unit and nothing happens. I checked and triple checked the wiring. I can’t even get proximity to work for the lift gate or doors. I even unplugged the unit and proximity no longer works when it did before.
Did you ever get this figured out? I'm in the same boat. Once installed the auto lock worked and mirrors folded in. On approach nothing happens, no mirrors no door unlock. I disconnected the unit and now my mirrors no longer fold out on approach and the smart lift gate Is not working. All dash settings are n the correct mode. Anyone?

It's been a while since I installed it, but I think there were DIP switches that need to be in a certain configuration. I would double check the instructions and also make sure all the wiring harnesses are plugged in securely. The latter issue got me at first.

I didn't do anything, it started working 2 days later on its own. I'm not sure if something needed to be reset after some time on its own or what.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check it all out again tomorrow.

Thanks for replying. Maybe a bad connection I'll try again tomorrow

You should check my post for resetting the canbus.

Yea I actually did that and it still didn't work. Touched the terminals together waited 30 minutes, reconnected the battery and still not working. Then it just started working. Not sure if there's an amount of time from reset to working, but it worked. Then just for the heck of it I installed the unit again and it worked. All functions working as they should, it's a head scratcher. Thanks to all.

Does this work on the 2023 Telluride with LX trim? I see the description says 2020+. Just making sure....

If I recall correctly, you have to have power folding mirrors for this to work.

Here as well wondering if this is still a thing on the 23s. I bought one here before I took delivery of my 2022 and it has since been pushed to a 2023. Picking up my 2023 SX X-Line in a few weeks and was hoping that they have a built in prox sensor now.

No built in one except what I saw on acomercial with a watch?

Regardless, yes this will work with an SX

Two questions:
  1. Can anyone confirm if this is this just the case for the 2022 and below? I have the 2023 S and it doesn't have power folding mirrors but it does have some sort of proximity sensor for the door handle lights.
  2. Has anyone in a lower trim tried this for the walk-away lock functionality? That's actually the only one I want and care about anyway! When I walk up I already have to reach for the handle, pressing the button is fine. But lock on walk away would be perfect. Per the website: "If your car does not have power-folding mirrors from the factory, only the auto-lock will work when you walk away. The auto unlock function will not work. You will have to use your key fob or touch the handle to unlock the car." I would like to know if anyone can confirm that auto-lock works on lower trims.
Thanks!

Does the lock work as a proximity or on a timer? Yesterday the fob locked while it was in my vehicle which doesn’t make sense. I also only had the one fob on me.Luckily I was able to unlock it with my phone but curious if I have something wrong

I want to say both.
When I walk away normally, it locks after xx seconds, but If you are close to back seat, or passenger seat you are not close enough. and it will lock from what I have found...
Locks on me all the time when I am right of the back doors. I have learned to live with it.

Not working on 23.

2023 telluride power folding mirror.
Unit not working. Doesn’t auto lock or unlock When approaching. Both lights are green Also CAN wires aren’t blue /red.
