• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Insurance cost for Kia and Hyundia a lot more than other brands?

My insurance actually went down $112 dollars per year over my 16 Genesis. Not a lot but it buys a decent dinner out I guess.

I’m an analyst now but used to be a Financial Advisor. I always recommended using an independent insurance agent to shop for rates as strong ones will have access to many companies, some you may have never heard of, but are still high quality companies.
thanks for the plug! (i'm an independent agent and i also replied above with more info)

I pay about $142 a month for Telluride EX FWD for half a million in liability and property damage coverage with Allstate.
If anyone wants to save some money let me know i am insurance agent with Allstate in CA
I also did a quote with Geico for the fun of it and it higher than Allstate

the idea that GEICO is always cheapest is a myth, perpetrated by GEICO LOL

142$ month is a lot of money. Until recently in FL I had 110$ for two cars both max coverage under loans. Now I have 38$ in CA for one car.

With 15/30 coverage with no uninsured motorist probably

Dang thats a lot. Mine went up a lot from my Ford Fusion to Telluride. I now pay about $60 a month (originally was told it would be about $50) but Im in Ohio... not expensive Cali. I have state farm with the same half a million in liability and property damage coverage.

Progressive Direct, and my insurance quote lowered roughly $350 a year from my Hyundai Genesis Coupe to a Telluride SX.

I had some ridiculous quotes mostly because some carriers didn't even have it in their system so they were insuring off value. I ended up with Geico and got great rates. Also, keep in mind, first year vehicles often have more expensive premiums because carriers have no idea how much claims will cost yet. That's why Traverse and other cars like that are cheaper. Parts are easier to get. Third party parts are more known. Over time, the Telluride will be cheaper to insure. Try Geico though. I thought it was reasonable. Travelers was insane.

Farmers insures my EX (non-AWD) for $384 every 6 months.

Insurance went up only by $75 moving from 2011 Odyssey EX-L to 2020 Telluride SX and most of that increase was toward replacement insurance which I didn't have with the Odyssey.

Have not ordered my Telluride yet, still pricing them out. However I checked with my insurance agent and trading in the wife’s 2012 GMC Acadia Denali for a Telluride AWD S will raise the insurance $19 a month.

I just got off the phone with my long time auto Insurance Dealer... Erie Mutual.... I asked if I could get an idea on how much insurance would cost... ballpark? First... they said they HAVE to have the VIN to give that info and...also..they said that for some reason... KIA/Hyundai rates ARE HIGHER than other brands. I then told her I didn't understand that because of all the levels of safety equipment they have in place. Part of her answer was...cost of parts??? Well we T-ride owners/future owners are skunked... If you don't have enough parts to BUILD your orders...how will you have a stockpile of parts???

The other side is that she said they needed to have the VIN to see the option eligibility for discounts..such as safety equipment..etc. I told her that the vehicle at ALL levels have a great many safety features STANDARD. But... to no avail... So I not only wait for the SXP but also Insurance quote LOL Story of it all...:sneaky:

We traded in a 2014 Ford Fusion for our SXP Telluride. Our insurance went down $37 per month. We use Ameriprise Auto Insurance.

My insurance also stayed around the same going from a 2010 Land Rover LR4 using Costco Ameriprise

I think there are a lot of factors involved and cities where you get it. My reference is not useful here as currently I have a Subaru WRX and with Telluride my price drops by $60 a month. (also considering that Telluride has a lot more safety features than my 2015 WRX.
Your credit score also plays a factor

They lie too. Just call around. I got a price quote that was really high with GEICO, and I got a very good quote (lower than current!) with Progressive. I will check Ameriprise and others - but may switch to Progressive.

I went from a 2010 Buick enclave paying 60.00 a month for 500 deductible 500K/1M/500K, to 80.00 a month on the Telluride so not a big jump for me I'm at State Farm
