• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Interior lighting kit?

I wish I had known the full functionality the the light kit before I added it for my wife. What a ripp off 4 LED's!4! That's it and there not even integrated. This is a 50 dollar option at max, not 450. I got smoked. Get the lights off amazon for under 20 and get the same results if you want the lighting option.

Would anyone know if the interior lighting is installed at the dealership or at the factory?

Well, I guess it would depend. If it is in the “additional installed equipment” section on the car’s window sticker, it is installed at the factory.

Otherwise, it would be installed by the dealer (or anyone willing to install it).

I can 100 percent confirm that on my EX model, it does NOT at all interface with the factory menu system. I spent almost an hour thumbing through the menu options in hopes of finding settings to integrate it, and it's not there at all. The colors are controlled by tapping the button in the cup holder area. It's nice, but probably not worth the $ involved to purchase/install it. I got mine from kia part world on a discount, and had it installed by my buddy's shop for free. So if I had to pay retail on the kit, and pay to install it, i never would've gotten it.
You can buy LED interior mood lighting kits on Amazon for a fraction of the cost. No way this is worth what Kia is charging IMHO.
