• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone sprung for the interior lighting kit add on? Is it worth the $450 extra? If it only lights the front row footwells I can't see myself doing it. But does it light up the 2nd row too? I think my kiddo may enjoy it if so.

I did when I ordered mine. I was told it integrates with the mood lighting system. Not sure about the 2nd row.

Ordered it with mine too.

Chipchop, I have the Interior Light Kit installed on my Telluride. It only lights up the Front Footwell and Front Cup Holders. Unfortunately does not light up in the backseat, but do agree that it would be pretty cool. Especially if you have kids.

Thanks Mikey! About to sign an order but it’s so hard without being able to see most of the features!

Totally understandable! My wife and I were fortunate to find the trim we wanted with all the options we wanted on the lot of our local dealership to test drive. It wasn't a must have for us, but It just so happened to have the Interior Light Kit installed. I will say that the Interior Lighting does provide a WOW factor when people ride in your car for the first time. Like stepping into a space ship haha.

Does it display the same colors as the mood lighting?

How is the lightning controlled?

Please share pictures if possible how it's controlled and looks.

Would be awesome if it goes with the mood lighting I'd be sold.

I'm almost positive it works with the mood lighting. When you change the color of the lights on your doors and dash, it changes the color of the lights in the wheel wells and cupholders to the same color.

My vehicle did not come with the interior lighting kit (just the doors and dash light up for me). I see it is listed as a $450 option but I am curious if anyone knows about how much dealers are charging to install it?? Also, I wish we could make the lights brighter. I have it set at 10 but it just feels too faint. Any exterior light seems to mostly drown it out.

This is correct. Just had mine installed yesterday. Took them about 5 hours. 9B09D911-5BCD-4085-99CA-B66DC904A87B.webp52C3208B-E75E-4009-A6F8-E6F3D0BD7332.webp0C821D99-F72E-4BB3-AB86-5FB34B08D341.webp531360AA-B17E-4912-872D-83C0FE4D7C5B.webp

I can 100 percent confirm that on my EX model, it does NOT at all interface with the factory menu system. I spent almost an hour thumbing through the menu options in hopes of finding settings to integrate it, and it's not there at all. The colors are controlled by tapping the button in the cup holder area. It's nice, but probably not worth the $ involved to purchase/install it. I got mine from kia part world on a discount, and had it installed by my buddy's shop for free. So if I had to pay retail on the kit, and pay to install it, i never would've gotten it.

Then it should be different than mine. The module does plug in but can’t be controlled from the screen on mine because I don’t have an sx. I have an ex

So does it come on automatically and is it controlled by the same interface as the mood lighting on the doors? My concern is that I don't want to have to deal with multiple controls and I don't want it to be a completely different color than the rest of the mood lighting. I do however like the fact that it lights up the cup holders as that was a complaint I had although not a huge deal. I just had light rings in my Jeep Grand Cherokee and really liked that at night.
