Hello,

I am waiting on my telluride since this March 2022. Today, I just saw my friend got his new telluride which was ordered last December. He told me upon arrival of his new car, dealer asked for extra money than they signed for factory order. Which sounds to me BS.

Is it something really happens?? If this really happens sometimes, how to deal with this situation in order to just pay the amount I was signed for.

Wouldn’t surprise me. The current supply and demand situation is unreal. Crazy thing is people will pay for it. When we bought our car the salesman was upfront about the price and even honored the price which was for a 2020 and we ended up with a 2021.

I think he signed when he placed the factory order, but dealer said that’s not official contract. Also sounds BS. He is kinda accepted it since his old car was in bad condition. For me, I want to avoid any chance they charge extra.

Never be so beholden to a vehicle that you don't even own yet, that you pay more than it's worth. That's just ridiculous. It's just a vehicle. Exercise self control and make rational and mature decisions.

I know Kia raises MSRP prices silently - happened on the EV6. I recall the Telluride got a $500 bump some time this calendar year, no?

How much extra are you talking about here? The previous post is correct, the MSRP did go up a bit.

He said when he signed for factory order, it was below MSRP that time. When he picked up, he end up paying 3000 more than MSRP.

Yup, I'd consider that a scam and I would not have accepted that. Your friend got duped.

Yes. I got the same impression when I heard that. I think that’s pretty rare to happen.
