Hi all,

I'm in Southern California, but while visiting my son in Colorado last December, I was able to test drive a Telluride. Like the vehicle very much and now I'm in the market for a SX. Have been getting a lot of great information here. Too bad dealers here don't even have a Telluride to buy or see.

I’m in SoCal as well, and from my searches, almost all of the dealerships in the area are trying to rip people off.

Having said that, there are a few Telluride dealers in Nevada and Arizona that have been very honest and may be worth reaching out to. Rodeo Kia in Avondale has been good about following up.

Not sure how big of a rush you’re in but thought I’d save you the annoyance of dealing with SoCal dealerships, at least right now. There may be a few diamonds in the rough, but they’ve all been fairly sleazy in my opinion, marking their vehicles up 2-10k.

I was trying to buy a Telluride EX from Rodeo Kia last spring, and with all their mandatory packages and markup it was 10K over MSRP! And they wouldn't budge. The supply was bad then, but it is even worse now. Rodeo Kia is also owned by Earnhardt, which has probably the biggest monopoly of dealerships in the valley (Phoenix). I bought an Odyssey EX-L from them 10 years ago, and they pulled a bunch of B.S. on me during the transaction.

Depending on your definition of SoCal, there used to be, and I am pretty sure still, dealers with them on the lots because of the enormous markups. Here is one with 9 listed - Best New Kia Car Dealership in Los Angeles | Car Pros Kia Glendale. They were marked up 10K when I inquired and they stated that they might be able to go down to 8K - hah. Do some searching - you can find them on the lots. You do not have to buy from them.

I have been checking online for dealers within 100 miles and they don’t have a SX with colors and options I want. With 2020 production ending, probably need to order 2021my.

I would be replacing a 2002 GMC Yukon XL with a SX AWD with towing package.
