• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Keeping the trunk door opened over extended period during camping drains off the battery

I have a 2020 Telluride, and I took it for a 2-day camping. This time, I had my trunk door opened most of the time for easy access to my stuff. On the last day when I was about to leave, my trunk door started beeping, and the next thing was the car won't start! My portable jump starter didn't help neither. Luckily I found someone to jump start for me. I wonder if it's really because of the trunk door opened over extended period of time?? Any idea or suggestion? Thanks!

Yes, from page 29 of the owner's manual........

To prevent the battery from being
discharged, do not leave the
power liftgate in the open posi-
tion for a long time.

After some research, I discovered if I manually move the trunk lock to closed position, it tricked the car thinking the trunk is closed. No alert on the instrument panel, and the phone app show trunk is closed as well!

To release the lock, simply press the trunk button on the driver side or use the remote. (The trunk button in the liftgate won’t work)

With the gate opened doesn’t it keep the whole interior lights on too? I remember having to turn the lights off to save the battery when I left the gate opened during our camping trip.

That is a button to disable light when doors are open.
