• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I lost a fob to my Telluride and ordered another one last week while it was being serviced.
The new fob cost $335.00 + $75.00 to program. He said if I found my other fob that it was
no good, He told me I was only allowed to have 2 fobs programmed. No where Online can I find verification
to his statement. Has anybody had this issue.

Who's "he"?

Dealer?
KIA?
Online store?
Some guy around the corner?

The dealership lost my key fob during a service visit. They replaced it for me, but now my spare fob won’t work. When I go in for my appt later this week, I’ll ask them about having a 3rd key fob. I’m curious whether they will have the same answer as yours.

MMan. Sorry for your loss. However, your post got me to thinking. And, I am looking into purchasing a key finder to attach to our fobs. I know this doesn’t do anything for you with your situation, but, it might help you to know that your post on this forum could help save others from a similar outcome.

You could eBay the old fob if it turns up.

My gut feeling tells me that, if I were to lose a fob and have it replaced - I would save the lost fob if it ever turns up. You never know when the event might repeat itself or the dog finds your fob. At least you would just have to go through the programing process - not the purchase. ;)

Thanks you, sounds like a wise choice to purchase a key finder. I did find my key but had to keep the new fob...unprogrammed

Glad you found it. If the new key hasn’t been cut yet, it will be worth more if you eventually decide to sell it.
