• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Kia July 2019 Sales: 4,559 Tellurides - DOWN 24%(!)

They have 11 SX in stock and 3 SXP's coming in not spoken for? I hate to ask but what kind of Markup above MSRP are they charging. Anywhere else at MSRP those vehicles would be gone.

None of the 11 of are SX they are LX, EX and S. Yes correct I went to the dealership and she brought them up on the computer they were supposed to be delivered on the 29th but the date was moved to the 23rd. None of them as of sat had a down payment.

Zero markup on any of them. Check their website for the stock you will see they have 11 in stock.

So..... As of 8/7/19. The West Point plant has made and shipped the following. Tellurides made since SOP 2/15 37,817. Shipped to the USA market. 32,239, Shipped to Canada, 2,231, Shipped to the middle east (8 countries) 1,190. Sitting to ship at West point 1,110. 1,047 in transit currently by truck and train. Enjoy.

They lured me in with alleged interest in my Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk trade-in then tried to snake me for $2,200 over MSRP. Already had a deposit at Ramsey for MSRP minus the $1,500 intensive. Watch those guys as they are "trying" to be slick.

Where did you get those numbers ? I have been building a database using the VIN window sticker and here are the numbers that I get as of 8/7/19:

Total VIN produced: 37,808
VIN produced for USA: 33,393
VIN produced not USA: 4,415

As of 8/7/19 the last VIN produced is 5XYP6DHC7LG038746.
Note: Having a VIN produced does not mean that the Telluride is actually made.

Here is a breakdown on the model/color combination for the USA:

Kia Telluride US production stats. by trim and colors

Here is a breakdown on the states/color combination for the USA:

@Michelw, @Kia Rocks!! works at the factory in West Point and has replied on other items on this forum. So, his numbers would be from corporate I assume... looks like they are in agreement - only off by 9 for total production! I think his numbers have extra information - 1,110 waiting to be shipped at West Point and 1,047 in transit. You have that additional 2,157 melded into US and non-US VINs.

I work at the plant that builds them.

Your numbers are not far off from my numbers.

Does Kia shut down for a week in July? A dealer mentioned that but may have been a tactic.
The plant was shutdown for 2 weeks in late june and july. This was a planned shutdown and occurs every year.

Sounds right , the dealer said he could sell 3X's is allocation, answer, make more Tellies and less sorrentos, same engine and transmission, which would the public rather have?
We are making as many Tellurides as we can. The Sorento uses a 3.3L V6 and the Telluride uses a 3.8L V6. Almost the same but bigger pistons. Transmissions are different too. Telluride uses start/stop. Sorentos do not yet. Transmission has a fluid pump to keep pressures up at a stop.

Who did you deal with? Leticia is my salesperson we got the $1500 incentive and a great deal on a trade for my 2013 Explorer. No hassles no haggles just a great buying experience. Also for MSRP not a dollar over.

So do they make a specific color combo daily, weekly? Like e.g. today is gray interior tomorrow is black? This week is white paint, tomorrow is moss?

No. In the paint shop yes. In assembly every color comes down the line. Between paint and assembly is a huge storage rack that holds the bodies to be built.

Wasn't Leticia. Was a man and think his name was Sam. He did an ok job with sales since I knew more about the car than he did. But it was the heavyset finance guy that screwed the pooch. He inflated the MSRP right in front of me then said it was supply and demand. If I didn't like it, then someone behind me would pay the inflated price. He was quite rude and tried to play us like we were ignorant. I have done my research and I'm no fool. Was embarrassing to the sales guy as he lost the sale due to his stupidity. They wouldn't even look at my 17' Trailhawk until we agreed with the sales guy. Jorge from Internet sales also made me believe they actually had interest in my vehicle. Never again will I step foot in that dealership. Sales or Service!

Any idea how often the paint shop does black copper? Being the rarest color, I can't imagine they keep many of those on the rack.

Howdy,
IMHO, Kia is down due to the unscrupulous dealers gouging the customer on prices.

The dealers which have them in stock, have them in stock for a reason. They are being priced out of the ballpark. This directly reflects back at KIA.

Hey KIA corporate! Get your dealers in line!

^ Autotrader is showing the following listings:

LX - 128
S - 320
EX - 363
SX - 277

Even if Autotrader's listings aren't comprehensive. that's absurdly tight supply (which is why so many dealers are asking for above MSRP).

I mean Kia is the value brand so this goes completely against the company image

There are only seven all-wheel-drive ex in all of northern Virginia, a large metropolitan area with high-income. It blows my mind that KIA can't meet demand at this point
