If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Title says it all.

Wife is in a lease that is losing value fast (carmax has us at 4k over value, to buy out the lease). She has access to another vehicle for a few months, but can't wait 4-12 months to pay at MSRP.

I've called all the top dealers on tellystats, and have a dealer ready to go with a "short" wait time, 5k over. I figured I would just ask here first before finalizing with them incase there was something I have missed.

Looking for white or wolf gray, SX prestige WITH nightfall AWD / Black seats.

My salesman in TN, let me know of a 2022 EX in Wolf Grey/Black Interior AWD with premium, towing and night fall for MSRP. Coming in May. MSRP+ $695 doc fee. They don't handle collections of sales tax for out of state deals so you need to be able to pay cash for the car. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks but looking for SX, I wish!

Why not extend the lease and order what you want at MSRP?

My fear is that this will not let up for awhile and things will continue to decline— market adjustment and wait times will extend further, and soon the new telluride’s price points will be much higher. Maybe this is my excuse to buy one now rather than wait it out.

Anyone have any thoughts on when the market will relax? I’ve called many dealers - all with markups from 2k-12.5k. We went with a one week wait time and 7k over.

My car just died so I can’t rent a car for 2-4 months and wait for an order to come in. Although, we still have 2 orders in— the SX-P that I really want. One is at 2k over MSRP in Ohio- OH003. But we’ll get an S next week unless by some miracle the SX-p gets picked up by the manufacturer and my old car starts working again…

Good luck!!

We are probably looking at things staying the way they are for the foreseeable future. It sounds like the market in general could see relief later this year or next year but unfortunately for the Telluride, things are likely to continue on until something major changes.

The issue is the production capacity. Kia can't make enough to meet the demand. I've heard of no plans to increase capacity, it would likely involve plant expansion or shifting some production to another plant. Both of which take considerable time.

I can see a competitor's redesign pulling sales from Kia and cooling the demand if the competitor makes something outstanding. Also, and this seems entirely possible given some of the spy shots I've seen, they could uglify the styling to a point where it turns off buyers. Otherwise, outside of the boost of the initial plan to produce 40k units a year being bumped up to 100k, there seem to be no plans to substantially increase production. Correct me if anyone has heard anything different about production. When competitors' inventories increase, you could see buyers shift to units that are more readily available rather than waiting for Tellurides.

Agree with this. I expect this to continue for at least another couple years for the Telluride. When you create a car that looks as good as the Telluride and it lands in the top spot for 3-row SUV for 3 consecutive years on Consumer Reports, demand is off the charts. If you look at CarMax here in Northern CA, a top of the line USED SX PNT is as high as $63k. Most dealers are $7k to $15k over, with one dealer telling me that they auction them when the come off the truck to the highest bidder.

Strange times! Who would have ever thought 2 years ago that you could drive a car off the lot at MSRP and have it be worth more money a month later?

Geez, tough spot, but there is simply no way I could ever justify paying $5k over though. I would have to figure something else out Nd just suffer the wait. That's just me.

I feel like I'm in an information hurricane! Nothing makes sense, and the information you have in front of you in no good 3 hours later. I spoke to a stealership that had 3 Tellys on their online inventory. I inquired about one, and was told that it was sold, but that they still had 2 in stock. So, I asked about the one of the other 2 on the website, (and EX prestige/nightfall) and was told that they didn't have that. They had 2 FWD LX's, which I'm not interested in. THEN they told me that they wouldn't take a deposit from me anyway, because I'm out of state. This is insanity.....and that's coming from a guy that bought a house in this market!

Check with Kia of Plano, they are having Tellus for sale every week, and asking like 3 over msrp.

Call Fowler and see if they have any allocations left. I picked up an SX that was incoming because it was unclaimed. It’ll be in and of April.

I have a deposit on a wolf gray sx-p nightfall with black interior AWD 3k > MSRP arriving 5/1. I found one a bit earlier and if I end up taking that I can pass this to you if you are a serious buyer. I don't want to waste the dealership's time if you're not serious. This is also in NY state

If they’re not, I would be interested. I put down a deposit a few weeks ago and was quoted 5-6 months but I’m not sure how accurate that time frame is.

Should have my telly in a week or so, where are you located?

I live in MD. My son lives in NY and I was planning a visit to see him next month. If it works out, I’d plan it around the pick up time frame.
