Latest info on ordering through KFOS

Biggest allocation we gotten ever

Great news! Latest news from Ford is they are cutting the price of the Explorer...huge price drops. Looks like with fleet sales dropping for every automaker - they realize they need to correct their pricing to better compete with folks like the Palisade and Telluride - which surely has eaten into their sales. Just imagine - no one saw the H/K twins having this much success...they are producing on a pace of a combine 200K units per year - that has to come from someone's sales...and I bet Ford is taking the biggest hit. Go KIA!!

I wonder how KIA of Muncie did with allocations? Now KIA just needs to get this production shipped to dealers. My ETA keeps slipping - now in October and they just dumped a huge allocations to dealers and they still can't get current cars in the queue built and shipped out. Hopefully they are working those logistics ASAP.

I think this is the main talking point here. Ford’s production rate never slowed and Ford’s competitor in this segment probably saw declined fleet purchases from emergency response organizations during the year. Not to mention, kia hit the sweet spot last year by keeping production numbers low, creating a demand for a hot vehicle, and now realizes the value

It will be funny to see how market reacts... what they don't know is Kia redesigned on 3/4 year rotation so lets say people come with an answer to compete with Kia/Hyundai we will have completely different style/look for 2022 or 2023(For 2023/2024 Telluride)... watch and see

Maybe by 2023 I’ll be able to get a 2021 for under MSRP

I don't want to hijack the thread...but combined with the redesign rotation - EVERY SINGLE new release is blowing away everyone's expectations. The K5 is getting glowing reviews, Sorento will be a huge hit, a segment busting Sedona is on its way (which will capitalize on the terrible Odyssey refresh and disastrous Sienna) and even the slow selling Stinger got a nice refresh with updated technology on the inside. KIA is charging ahead full speed. I really hope buyers respond. I am 46 and the last time I saw a company put such a huge push for quality and design was in 1989 when Toyota launched the Lexus LS400. KIA seems to be swinging for the fences with every release.

Hoping to place my order for a 2021 SXP any day now... My birthday is tomorrow, so I guess that'll be my present to myself. :)

Nice, what color combo you looking at? And, happy early bday!

Talked to my dealer, they said I have jumped from 60 in line to 27 and that I might make the next KFOS order in September, and if that happens Im looking at December delivery. Does that timeline add up to those familiar with the process?

Is that line nation wide or only at your dealer?

Sweeet, yeah it's funny. I happened to see on their site the exact vehicle as I had ordered. I called, assuming it was spoken for and it was, but they looked up my place in line and he was shocked that I made that kinda jump.

Makes sense. This months dealers got some of the highest allocations they have ever gotten. That means KIA is expecting production rates will stay high for the foreseeable future. Also - there may be buyers that jumped out of other orders and into some of the nightfall edition allocations that landed this past month. The biggest challenge KIA appears to be having is transit from the factory to the dealerships. Hopefully they get that sorted out soon.

That’s really encouraging @noles1983!! I will have to check in with Amanda to see where I’m at now 😁

I believe the Dealers themselves arrange transportation. My Dealer told me their contract with the transporter allows 36 hrs max from the GA factory to their lot here in NC. This is why I think each Dealer likely arranges transport. The Dealer pays for the vehicle when it leaves the Plant.

Unfortunately not the way it works. It’s set by Corporate Kia.. as a matter of fact my owner asked if we can set up transportation for our own cars and they declined due to logistics of pulling cars from different areas.
