Latest info on ordering through KFOS

Talked to my dealer, they said I have jumped from 60 in line to 27 and that I might make the next KFOS order in September, and if that happens Im looking at December delivery. Does that timeline add up to those familiar with the process?

I did, you shouldn't be too far down on the list since you ordered a couple of days after me.

@bwpinti , I hope I’m wrong for your sake as you’ve been waiting a long time, but this looks to be a KDealer request.

Your dealer doesn’t have enough allocations to push this through KFOS, so you’re in a holding pattern until next month.

Thank you @disweds12 . Hopefully we are both wrong. My dealer told me they received allocations on 8/13 and that I was #1 on the list. I thought for sure that meant my order would get filled. Just frustrating to see another order window close and I am no closer to the finish line.

So that list shows 8 SX AWD models requested for your dealership and unfilled. 7 have a request date earlier than yours. Not sure how that will play out, but doesn't seem to say you're #1. Wait for their communication, it will be filled eventually in the next several months as I said previously. Maybe Sept or October.

Yes, despite what you’ve been told, your order is number 8 in line to be filled. I think you were smart to not pay extra for the Nightfall edition, but the other side of that coin is you are starting over with an order that isn’t even three weeks old yet.

After re-reading the thread, here is what I understand. @StephenCantrelle will correct me if I'm wrong

Kdealer is where they put the initial order after a deposit. Entered into KFOS when your turn comes up based upon the allocation granted the dealership. ETA in KFOS after a week. Over time, ETA can vary (sometimes a lot). Still haven't figured out how long until a VIN. After VIN, 6-8 weeks until it arrives at the dealer. That right?

My story? Ordered 3/11. Entered into KFOS 8/15. Got a call today, ETA 11/14. That make sense?

Friend's story? Ordered 3/4. Entered into KFOS 7/15. Got a call 8/3, Arriving @ dealer 8/31. WTH?

Our order? SXPT Silver. Their order? Ebony black SXP Nightfall.

At least your dealer took an order. The dealers in CA pretend there is no ordering system. They literally tell us there is no such thing as ordering from Kia and they get what they get.

Yes makes sense. If you like/buy Nightfall you will likely have a Telluride in your Driveway much sooner than a non Nightfall (Kia's approach to great customer satisfaction). I was offered a Nightfall several weeks ago, I still do not have a ETA for the Telluride I ordered. I quit asking the Dealer cause I do not think they have a clue.

Funny thing, yesterday my dealer in Athens took a video of a Gravity Gray SXP NF he just got in. I checked in Failcat and can’t find it. Are they delivering to dealerships and not notifying them??

does anyone else who ordered an SXP AWD non nightfall in August have an official ETA?

The very first column that shows a zero... that should be a one if it is for sure 100% this month... if the Priority is zero(Priority is first column) and the second box is checked that means you are a supplemental order...

Supplemental order means if Kia can make it and assign it to dealer they will but not necessarily guaranteed..

So if you don't fill this month you should be at the top of the list for next month.

@StephenCantrelle Does the Kdealer priority mean anything? The only thing I could find on it was your prior KFOS post about priority 1 vs 0. I got an update that my order was submitted after KFOS closed, and the dealer is hoping for a supplemental allotment. The dealer said they were only allocated Black Copper SX AWD for March, but I'm not sure if that was just a simplified answer for not making it into this month's allotment. Does the Priority 1 box mean that I should definitely make the April allotment, or am I still at the mercy of Kia making decisions on what colors to build for April? Thanks!

All priority on custom orders should be 1 on the screenshot you posted.

Supplemental orders are hit and miss. kinda rare. (weekly allocations through kdealer)
More than likely if you are at the top of the queue then you will be entered into KFOS for April. (KFOS does not go by color but by how many the dealership earns for that given month for each trim in FWD/AWD)

The real question you need to ask is How many SX AWD orders are infront of you? How many SX AWD orders does the store average each month through KFOS.

That will determine how many months till you are entered into KFOS and accepted/given initial ETA.
