Latest info on ordering through KFOS

I ordered an everlasting silver S in January and was told today by the dealer they didn’t get this allocated and will have to wait until March to try again. Is this normal? Should I try to find one via the Vin spreadsheet?

That is normal, and yes I would search using tools on forum in the meantime.

Hi Stephen. We ordered a Kia Telluride AWD SX with the Espresso brown interior and a tow hitch. Next Wednesday, it will have been 7 months since we ordered it. We thought it would be faster getting a Telluride that wasn't a prestige build, but I wonder if we had picked a more popular configuration, like SX P with the napa grey interior, would we have our telluride order filled faster? At this point it feels like it's never going to be built and I wonder if we might receive a telluride sooner just placing an order for the other configuration. Did we order a unicorn? What questions should I ask my contact at KIA who ordered the vehicle to get a sense of what timeframe we're actually looking at now? Eg.. 1) How many SX Tellurides are you allocated? 2) How many special orders are in front of me...3) Would it be quicker if our configuration was more popular? --- Any suggestions of what I need to know to understand even a slight approximation of wait time at this point?

That's a complicated question - I would ask one of the dealers - @StephenCantrelle perhaps. Once the vehicle is allocated it gets an ETA sometime thereafter - now with KFOS orders go in mid - month and are accepted a few days later, then the deliveries get planned. When dealers post on here that they have an incoming allocation, we see ETA dates anywhere between 30-90 days in future.

@StephenCantrelle since orders are now going in to KFOS in the middle of the month, when will a dealer be able to tell what orders they can actually place? When do they get their allotment notifcations vs. when orders go into KFOS? I hope this makes sense.

Stephen can answer, but it's right around the middle of the month - and then dealers have a couple of days to put in orders and then a few days later they are confirmed / accepted. Also, the line for SX AWD includes prestige - so something doesn't add up. Even though you're "4th" in line for SX AWD at Muncie, the Prestige orders will also come in front of you - as the allocation is for SX AWD - prestige is just an option package. There are orders from September that haven't been filled yet - SorentoSXL (Sept order) just canceled as they found another one en route (per forum post), and NREVANS (Sept order) is patiently waiting. There are at least 5 other people who post frequently with November orders - most SXP. One person rheyes said he was #23 for an SXP with a November order also. I would spend the time hunting for one en route if you want to hopefully have a vehicle by end or March or early April. Not looking too pretty up there.

When KFOS opens up we see how many of each trim we can order.. then we put the orders in to fill.. then when KFOS closes we get confirmation. Then get a ETA a few days later with confirmation in system

Yep. By my count there are at least 10 forum members alone with outstanding Muncie orders between NREVANS and TMG, including rheyes, who (as jw stated) was #23 as of two weeks ago.

I just emailed Lucas today to see where I was in line, to which he promptly responded. He then wrote me back a few hours later saying someone had just cancelled. So, congrats and thanks.

Can someone point me in the direction of the thread or remind me what I should tell the dealer to do to the car before I pick it up? I seem to remember something about making sure the tire pressure was corrected from the factory settings. What else?

They said they have one order ahead of mine. I'm just curious if I've landed one of their allocations this month or if my order is just in their queue.
