Latest information on Ordering System(Kdealer/KFOS) starting Sept 2020

KFOS was not open in February. They may have your order in kdealer and waiting to get filled. When your order gets filled in KFOS an ETA is generated at the same time.

So the long ID number my dealer gave me the day I placed my order just shows that my order was entered into the que on their KDealer. KFOS will depend on the dealers allocation as well as the number of cars ahead of me in KDealer.
Is that a correct assumption?
And if I called my dealer to make a change to the options (a couple days after the order was placed) would that change the ID number? Or is there a way to edit orders before Kia picks them up?

You are spot on.
Yes if you edit accessories will keep same ID number. If you change from FWD to AWD or EX to SX model than that will change and generate new ID number

Dealer allotments have been issued, according to a dealer I've spoken with.

One question that I'm still not sure about after reading all these threads: Is allocation also color specific? A dealer told me that their allotment of SX AWD was color specific for black copper. They said they would enter my order into the system (I'm guessing kdealer), and hope it gets picked up before next month. Is there some kind of supplemental ordering, or sweep of the system, done by Kia between allotments? I originally thought the allotments were only by trim level and drivetrain.

Can Kia see the orders each dealership has in their KDealer? Can certain order configurations "jump" the line if Kia decides to focus a particular trim or color?
I guess I'm just trying to understand the process, and wondering the significance of the 15 digit "request ID" the salesperson gave me.

The request ID is like a number at the Deli... when your order is filled either by kdealer or Kfos the number will stay the same but you will have an inital ETA that the dealer can provide... once Telluride is built the request ID will convert to your Vin number.

When KFOS opens montlhy(usually mid month) any available allocations in kdealer do automatically get transferred to KFOS.
Kia Corp does not look up individual dealer allocations.. have to ask the specific dealer on updates until Vin is assigned.. then I am happy to help track it for you.

Certain configurations dont typically jump ahead.. but certain things can delay process(Example is currently Tow Package are on delayed due to supply)

Yes you are in queue in kdealer.... if it gets assigned on a weekly allocation then it will fill(not likely these are rare).

If not when your number is up on the queue and KFOS is open your order will automatically transfer from Kdealer to KFOS

So that means no orders were filled for Feb? So did KFOS only open once in March? If so... when? Wondering if it was before or after I reached out to dealer for update on my order.

KFOS was open early March.. opened around the 7th and closed with allocations and ETA'S being assigned around the 15th.

Bummer, I didn't know the tow package is currently delayed! Maybe this explains why my ETA is further out than I expected. Is there any additional info on when they expect supply to be replenished?
