• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just finished installing new LED headlights and reverse lights, and thought I would save the "easiest" for last. Unfortunately, after unscrewing them, the housings won't move. Put a small screwdriver in the hole and tried to pry them down....no go. Tried to put a small hook in the hole and pull them down....nada. I then tried to massage them back and forth while singing softly to them....nothing.

What am I missing? Is there a trick someone has figured out? Too much Neil Diamond?

Thanks

Should just be the one screw, when you pull down, it should come down at an angle swiveling towards the side that doesn’t have a screw. Don’t think it should require much force once the screw is out. If you aren’t able to get good leverage with the screwdriver to pull down the plastic cover, use the threaded end of the screw itself to pull down at an angle.

Maybe you have salt buildup from the winter? Try rinsing it out with a hose or car wash pressure washer if it is salted over.

Thanks so much. I've watched this video a dozen times to be sure I wasn't missing something. Seems like it should come out fairly easy when the screw is out, but I was pulling hard enough I worried about cracking the housing. Your point about salt build up is smart. I'll wash it out and have another go at it.
