Lift gate failure

Suddenly our Telly's smart liftgate won't fully activate. This fails the same way trying to activate in any of the ways we have tried.

1. Using the button on the FOB
2. Standing behind and activating by proximity
3. Unlocking and manually pressing button by hand on exterior
4. Pressing button on dash - while running and in park

Nothing seems to be obstructing - no visible ice build up

We are below freezing - but all other doors work fine.

• The door unlatches & unlocks as it should when activated
• You can hear the motors "run"
• IT WILL CLOSE WITH POWER

Look in the manual and go to where it says to adjust heights for the tailgate it may need to be recalibrated.

Thank you for your tips you were very close.

I did the consumer grade calibration but it did not make a difference. The dealership took a look at it and did a computer calibration, they said that it was something that could only be done hooked to their system.

If that does not fix it and it should come up again then they would start replacing parts.

PS - they recalibrated n the shop via computer - for free- in warranty.

A similar situation with my 2022 Telluride. After about 4 months, the lift stopped closing all the way. I brought it in and they worked on it for 4hrs communicating with the tech office and said they think the arms on either side of the lift need to be replaced. Additionally in attempting to fix it, it no longer opens all the way either. The parts are on back order and no eta in sight. In the meantime I have hit my head three times loading groceries and have hurt my back trying to close the darn thing in the rain. I am disappointed by the lack of service and solution.
