• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... My 2022 Kia Telluride Sx lift gate will not lock. When using the fob or trunk button to close the lift gate, it will close then beep and automatically open up again. I have to manually push it down at which time it closes, but remains unlocked. There are no obstructions and yet there is no click sound when locking the lift gate. My dash stays on showing that the lift gate is unlocked when the engine is off and parked. I hope it’s something I’m doing wrong and that someone knows the answer.

Have you tried manually adjusting the lift gate height while open and then pressing and holding the button on the lift gate to set the new height?

Are there any obstructions in the way of the latch for the lift gate?

One owner in the past had an issue with the two pneumatic struts holding the lift gate open not evenly aligned. I believe after tugging on them he was able to get them even again, and the lift gate would close properly.
