• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Little nits just for fun.

Yeah, what’s up with only the driver seat turning on automatically? I’ve noticed that too.
I would guess more trips have no passengers vs. trips with passengers. It is just an odds game. Plus heating an empty seat is probably some type of a “safety concern”.

Probably true.

The drive by wire throttle is inconsistent, noticeably different than a mechanical throttle. When I slowly press the throttle, sometimes it seems like forever for it to start accelerating, other times it takes off like a raging bull. When I drive my other cars with the throttle connected via cable, no such problem.
My suspicion is that the placement of your foot is more to blame. If you're a low petal pusher like me, you will be pushing at the hinged part of the pedal. Once I trained my foot to press higher on the accelerator, the inconsistencies in acceleration went away for me.

I am not a fan of the bottom hinge accelerator. I am used to it but, in my winter climate, there is no way to protect the carpet around the accelerator from wet feet.

If I'm adding to the nits, I'd have to say my biggest pet peeve is that the track buttons on the steering wheel are reversed. It's not natural, after 3 months and 6k miles, I still have to think about what I'm doing when I switch tracks.

My car had 16 miles on it when I picked it up in Texas. I know they do some test-track driving before they ship it, but I honestly have no idea how many miles they put on it at the test track. (Maybe someone here knows?).
I replied to your poll thread - thanks for starting that one. I do not know if there is an exact amount of miles that the Telluride is driven at the factory. However, they do take the Tellurides on a short drive over a variety of surfaces to test the build quality. This drive is on a closed course at Kia’s plant in West Point, GA and you would think that these test drives are close (or the exact same) in the number of miles driven.

Here is a video covering the test drive process mentioned above:

I would imagine that they might take it out on the track again if they find issues that need to be fixed. I found this info about the Kia track in California: "Hyundai/Kia test track is part of a 4,300 acre, $60 million Hyundai/Kia test facility in California City. Vehicles are tested on a variety of surfaces including a 6.4 mile oval track, a 2 million square-foot Vehicle Dynamics Area, a 2.75 mile winding track and a 3.3 mile hill road, and various special surface roads designed to duplicate highway and road conditions." Not sure if the Georgia track is the same, but I would imagine it is similar.

I have a 2021-S. I don't have any serious complaints, but I would like to have a little bit more padding in the seats to make them a little more comfortable, and the Sofino fake leather is a little sticky. It's hard to slide in and out because your clothing sticks a bit. I'm looking for decent seat covers that won't interfere with the air bags. I was surprised it didn't have auto temp control. I've had cars that were much, much older that had it. I was surprised anyone still made a vehicle with manual knobs for the climate controls. Not a big issue; I can turn a knob. I was just surprised. Otherwise, I don't have any other complaints.

Was your previous car a base trim or second to lowest trim?

They still have a lot of cars with manual climate control on lower trims in the market. Cuts down costs for mainstream cars.

Good point; my 2004 I traded for the Telly was the top trim. I don't care if it has manual climate control; I was just surprised.

Most of the posts I have seen mention CPLAY2air wireless adapter for factory CarPlay on CARPLAY2air.com. From what I’ve researched, CPlay2Air is a white labeled Carlinkit 1.0 Carlinkit Wireless CarPlay Store. I have the Carlinkit 2.0 on order myself, but I don’t have it yet to provide feedback. I think both of these are available from sellers on Amazon as well.
I just purchased/received a Carlinkit 2.0 from Amazon (this one: Amazon link ), haven't given it a good run yet just an initial setup/connection but at least for the moment it seems to work - Waze and Apple Music (not the service but songs on my iPhone) working wirelessly now - pretty cool. Checked for firmware update but there was none (model I have must be up to date). Anyways will give this thing a try for awhile and will post if anything good or otherwise happens. But if nothing else it's working so far with my 2021 Telluride SX...

Just FYI I used some velcro tape between it and the car and stuck it just to the right of the QI/wireless pad. This way it's out of the way when I want to use the QI, 12v, or other usb port, and the cover that covers that area can still be opened/closed without issue. Hopefully this gadget will work for awhile...

Glad to hear it is working well. I've since received mine and have used it 3 or 4 times without any issues. I velcro taped mine to the top cover of the wireless charging area and it still allows access to the usb port, etc., but I contemplated taping it to the side as well. Happy with it so far. I'm still just trying to figure out the best method for switching in both directions between CarPlay and the standard home screen.

Did you get the White?

Hyundai test track, you say? Got to actually drive my hooptie around the outer bank track during a Hyundai / Kia only car show they held on the proving grounds back in 2014. Was a cool experience.

Off-Topic but shameless pic sharing 🤷🏼‍♂️

A few more things that are bugging me:

Radio volume reduced in reverse, and lasts a long time if you enable the backup camera delay.
If you remote unlock with fob then whoever you unlocked it for better run because it re-locks itself very quickly.
And as mentioned in a recent thread, if you remote start and start loading the car it turns itself off.

These are maybe just me not knowing how to use it:

E-brake is super confusiing. Do you pull up? push down? Does it automatically turn off? Is it on or off right now?
No way to see song band and title when using android auto.

Oh and you can't turn off the headlights! Say you are sitting in a parking lot waiting on your corona food to go and don't want to bother anyone with your lights in their eyes.

If you put the lights on the parking position or engage the parking brake, the DRL’s will shut-off.

Setup > Sound > Driving Guidance > Parking safety priority (make sure it is unchecked).

Pull up to apply, push down to turn off. Shifting into gear will automatically disengage the parking brake. You know if it's on because the red indicator will show in your instrument cluster.

As long as you are on software version 14.0 or above, and have split screen enabled for Android Auto (Setup > Device Connections > Android Auto > enable split screen), you can show the radio info in the right 1/3 portion of the screen (as long as you are not playing audio via Android Auto itself).

If you are in park and your lights are off, engaging the parking brake will extinguish the DRLs.

Fortunately every single one of your problems is a setting or just not understanding how your car works! 😊

Edit: it looks like you have an LX, so the split screen thing isn't going to work for you, obviously. And I can't confirm your path to the sound setting, but hopefully it is there!

Didn’t know about parking brake disengagement. Good info 👍 (the part about shifting out of P with the brake engaged)

On the subject of Parking Safety Priority, I have it checked, but the volume does not change. I tried unchecking and checking again, but the volume never drops. This is a new phenomenon since the November 2021 update. I think this may have caused me to tap a vehicle, because I could not hear the beeps.

6) When you use the Kia Access to remote start, the custom climate temperature settings should include the seat heaters/coolers. This was automatic with my old Acadia based on the outside temperature. Guess the designers never sat on a car seat when it's -10F outside (-20C for my fellow Canadian's).
7) Allow numbers to be added to the NAV address book. Also agree with #3 above.
8) Adjust steering wheel controls for the radio stations / CarPlay to correct up as "next" and down as "previous" - not the other way around.
9) Add a battery monitor icon with volts and/or percentage - this vehicle sure does suck back power when it's turned off for a few days.
10) Improve front wipers. Yesterday was a cold day and I applied windshield fluid and the passenger blades barely removed any of the liquid - had to stop and clear the blade before you could see out the windshield.
WHAT THE EFF were they thinking with those dang controls?!?! How you gonna make volume up and down and yet reverse the tracks?? Its like a crazy person did that... and the crazy part is that its a simple software fix.. how have they not done that yet!
