Looking for a little guidance re my Telly order

Hello, I’m new to the forum and hopefully someone can give me guidance on how long it usually takes from the time your order is picked up at the factory to delivery. I ordered my Telly Oct 7th and was told the order was picked up by the factory in early December. I’ve called several times to follow up with my salesman and he shared the dealership does not have a ship date yet.
Yesterday I went on Failcat and saw an identical Telly to mine that posted on March 1st. However, after a text with my salesman, it’s not the one I ordered.
Does anyone know what the average time from the factory picking up the order to production.
I ordered an SX with tow and prestige package in Sangria with grey interior from Moritz Kia in Ft Worth.

Seems to be usually around 2-3 months from what I have noticed. Shipping times can vary as well.

Are you sure your order is Prestige Package and Sangria? That is not an available option to order.

Moritz has typically been 3-4 month wait. Has your order been accepted in KFOS yet? Has dealer given you an ETA that has been issued by Kia yet?

Hi, Sorry it’s not the Prestige package it is the Nighthawk package I ordered.
Moritz told me 5 months and it is now over 5 months. The order was picked up by the factory in early Dec. Moritz is still saying they have no info on my order regarding delivery

It is now 5 months waiting with no delivery estimate. Moritz does have one listed on Failcat that looks like mine. However, when I called to ask about it they said it was not the car I ordered. I did go back and look at my order. The order reminded me that I also got the Nighthawk package.
I am concerned that you state I can’t get the Prestige package with Sangria color as I was very excited to get ventilated seats and heated steering wheel. I would have changed car color. Moritz never told me I couldn’t get that combination.
Maybe that is why my salesman said I might be able to get the Telly if the orginal buyer decided against getting it.

It’s been six months at Jake Sweeney and nothing has been accepted by the mfg yet. (KFOS) They do a fair amount of business and they are racking up the orders. I wish I would have asked how many orders were ahead of mine. They get about 10 allocations a month, which might mean there were 60 or more orders ahead of me.

In Summer/Fall of 2020, my car got "picked up" by Kia in Mid-August. But the build date was around 2 months later. It was deliverd to dealer about 2 weeks after it's build date. Mine showed up on Failcat about 3 days after I got notice of the day it would be built. And it arrived at the dealership in Muncie, Indiana about 12 hours after it rolled onto the shipping truck earlier that morning in Westpoint, GA. BTW, I ordered mine on December 10, 2019--just before Covid hit the world. So I had multiple delays back then for various Covid reasons.

Don't feel bad. I ordered mine October 19th 2021 and I'm currently number 2 in line so it won't get picked up until April. Add that 2 months for production (being positive) and I won't see it until June.

Lucky. Last I checked at Muncie I had 69 ahead of me and I ordered the day before you!

When you say number in line what does that mean? I was told by my salesman that my order was picked up by the factory in early December.

You are put in a queue and the factory mostly picks up your orders based on that queue once a month. The dealer assigns orders to what slots the factory gives them. They draw down off a list of pre-orders.

I think unfortunately you picked a very rare color for Kia production. Sangria is the exterior color with the least number produced. Assuming you meant Nightfall (or Nightsky in Canada) that probably makes it an even more narrow occurrence. If you look at the production numbers by exterior color by day it appears that they only make Sangria one day per week.

New here… what is the kfos, and what is failcat? I found a dealer that took my order without a deposit. While I love not getting a “bill”, it really doesn’t give me much confidence. Are they just dragging me along? He said 2-4months….

Thank you for the information. I knew it was not the most popular color and the sales manager it might be less than 5 months from order to delivery because it wasn’t too popular. Clearly that isn’t the case as I am now over 5 months waiting.
The dealer had exactly the same color combination, Sangria/grey, with exactly the options I ordered come in last week however they said it wasn’t mine. Still no ETA on delivery of my car.

New Update. I talked with the Sales Manager at Moritz Kia and he said my order had not been picked up. He isn't sure why my salesman said it had been picked up in December. I asked how many cars we ahead of mine in the production queue and he only would state that this dealership sells between 25 and 45 Tellurides a month so he really didn't know. He did say most of the August and September orders had been picked up so he didn't think it would be that much longer. It's been almost six months since I ordered my Telly and hope I still get mine before they update the front end as I really don't like the new look.

NEW UPDATE I spoke with the Sales Manager at Moritz Kia, where I ordered my car, and he said my car has not been picked up by the factory yet even though we are now almost 6 months since my order. When I shared that my salesman said the order had been picked up in December the Sales Manager said he had no idea why my salesman stated it had been picked up. The Sales Manager shared that this dealership sells between 25 and 45 Tellurides a month and he has no idea where my order falls in the queue. He did say I am the first in line when it comes to cars ordered in Sangria. I get the feeling he really wants to string me along so my order will be a 2023 model. With the proposed changes to the front end I really hope I get the 2022 model.
